Anything Goes : What would you do? by Joyce M.Gilliard

Joyce M.Gilliard

What would you do?

I worked on a hit TV show that I loved. I worked with an actress who was very difficult. She didn't get along with anyone on the crew. When she was around, it was always tense. I prayed every morning before I went to work, for her to have peace with herself and appreciate her job that she was blessed with. She was always draining for my spirit. Anyway, during one of her moments, she bit me. Yes, she did. She says that she didn't do it intentionally, but with her, I just don't know. I ended up having a Tetenus shot and antibiotics from the incident. I did nothing to her and we were not in an argument prior to the bite. All I did was go do "touch ups". The tabloids got the story and it was all over the internet. I feel sorry for her and think she needs help, but at the same time, I really don't know what to do. I want to forget about the incident, but now I am forever known as the stylist who was bit by an actress. It has been an emotionally draining time for me dealing with this. I sometimes laugh to keep from crying. I sometimes wonder if this will hinder me from getting those big jobs. What would you do?

I think we teach people how to treat us by our actions and reactions. I think your initial and even perceived reactions to this biting incident are being effected by this women's perceived status. I think if were a man who bit you or even made some overtly sexual advance you would have handled it differently. Ultimately neither I nor anyone else can give you advice. You have to do or not do what you can live with and hopefully not regret it later on.

ROFL @ James... Bite her back! HAHAHAHAHA..... Noooooo

In essence the past is in the imagination. Your as a good as your next job not your last. Let me introduce you to the law of the garbage truck! A story for you. (not my story) THE LAW OF GARBAGE TRUCK One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, ‘Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!’ This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, ‘The Law of the Garbage Truck.’ He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on you. Don’t take it personally, just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. You have the right and the choice to not carry their garbage. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so…Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don’t. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it! Have a blessed, garbage-free day. Pain is only as deep as you hold onto it.

Debbie Elicksen

Wow, Mario. That's a story that needs to keep spreading. Love it.

Debbie Elicksen

Joyce, I don't think many would have done anything differently, except maybe add something to the hair spray or shampoo that would make her hair fall out. But one reaps what they sow, so even that would come back to haunt.

Mark Cabaroy

Wow Mario that is a good story, make a hell of short film too.

Joyce M.Gilliard

Comedian D'Lo Hutchins

Wow! Hey... Denis may be on to something here. Go to anywhere BUT MTO. You know how ratchet MTO can be.....lol

Alfred Nesser

Here's my secret weapon,... Someone who prays for me. https://vimeo.com/83036167

Joyce M.Gilliard

You all are funny. I have thought about it though.... But whatever happens... Happens.

Mario Leone

No sweat heart, go and make things happens.

Joyce M.Gilliard

@Mario....TRUST ME.... I am :-)))))

Liam Lionheart

An actress bite you, yikes. Try not to think about it - it's her loss not yours, just do the things you love to do.

Debbie Elicksen

The fact that you are here in Stage 32, and that you've endeared yourself to us, you will be the one we think of first for when we need your skill set. Any number of actresses can be asked to play a part, and I'll bet than any of the others are more likely to get the nod over one that is known to be difficult, unless she is named Jennifer Lawrence.

James David Sullivan

I still say you should bite her back! ;-)

Mark Showalter

You were attacked in the workplace & you're asking what you should do ? If you come on a site like this for that answer you need to do some very serious thinking, not praying.

Mario Leone

Shes ok Now We can put this to rest.
