Stage 32 Meetups : Tampa Screenwriters and Producers by Luke Sokolewicz

Luke Sokolewicz

Tampa Screenwriters and Producers

Anyone in the Tampa, FL area interested in doing a Meet Up? Thanks! Luke

David Andrade

I'm a bit north, south of Ocala, but I love Tampa and would gladly come down!

Kira George

I am in Tampa... would like to have a meet up!

Steve Sharnik

Name a time & place!

Paul Saulo

I am manatee county, let me know when.

Cheryll Thompson Ganzel

I am in Iowa, but I will be in the Tampa area the first week of April. If you don't get together before then, let me know.

Steve Sharnik

One of my colleagues and I are going to the FFN meeting in St Pete Tuesday night. Has anyone had any experience with this organization? http://floridafilmnetwork.com/tampabay/event/monthly-ffn-tampa-bay-meeting/ If someone is going to name a day to meet up, weeknights are better for me if possible

David Andrade

Oh man! How was it? I missed it:)

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

So sorry I missed this one. Any more meeting planned? :)

Steve Sharnik

If you're asking about the FFN meeting, it was a joy to spend time speaking with people that share a common interest and passion. I decided to join the club. I'm still open to other meetups though

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

I'm new to screenwriting and am being mentored by Scott C Brown to adapt my novel. I would love to meet those in the business---what a wonderful learning experience and exchange of ideas. :)

Luke Sokolewicz

Thnx Steve for giving us a heads up about FFN. I didn't even know about it and I live like 20mins from St. Pete!! For the next meet up, I thought it'd be cool to possibly set up a meet up day in April. That way we can all have time to commit to something. Maybe the second Saturday of April and meet up in Tampa at Fly Bar. Any takers?

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

I don't know Tampa that well. I know how to get to TGH. Where is Fly Bar, Luke? If I attend, do I need to bring anything? I'm a novelist and am a newbie with script writing. My book is being adapted to script by me and Scott C Brown in Hollywood. It's a steep learning curve for me, but fun.

Kira George

I'll be there...

David Andrade

Hi all, here's the info for the Indie Studios meet up: We have a meeting the 3rd Tuesday of every month at Indie Studios, 1776 11th Ave N, St. Petersburg from 7-10pm. Hope you can make the next meeting. The next one is tomorrow, the 18th!

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

Hi David, Thanks for the info. I'm a newbie. I'll try to make it. Is there a landmark or building I should look for? I'll be coming from the area of 75th Ave N and 9th St N. Cynthia

Kira George

Oh no... I have class on Tuesday nights... Hopefully I can meet up with you guys some other time then...

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

Wednesday, the 19th is also good for me. Kira, maybe David will change the meet to third Wednesdays?

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

I am so very glad I went to the FFN meeting tonight. I met wonderful people and enjoyed the presentation. I think I'll become a member next month. Such a fun and creative group!!

David Andrade

I unfortunately missed it to deadlines. How was it Cynthia :)?

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

It was very interesting. I met many wonderful and warm people. There was a guest speaker--sorry, I forgot his name, who spoke about the future of podcasts broadcasting as the future of TV. I didn't quite understand all the details. Miriam could probably tell you more if you email her. I'm going to the Script group this Sat up in Safety Harbor. Sounds like fun. :)

Raffiel Newsome

When is the next meeting? I was unaware of the past meeting and would to attend the next one.

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

I'm a newbie in the FFN group, but I think they meet every 3rd Tues of the month. Check with Miriam or Ellen to make certain. :)

Raffiel Newsome

Yes they do Iam a Board Member of the FFN Network. There meetings are held at Indie Studios in St. Pete.

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

It's nice to meet you, Raffiel. See you at the meeting!

Kira George

Are we still meeting second week in April?

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

Kira, Are you referring to the Screenwriter's Workshop on April 12th?

Kira George

I am referring to the original post by Luke..

Cynthia B Ainsworthe

So sorry, Kira. I was referring to the FFN folks.

Sounds good. My husband, Mitch, drops me off and picks me up for the FNN meetings. Is it okay for him to tag along?
