One event I can recommend in general, that I frequently attend: the Network Austin Mixer. It takes place on the 2nd Wednesday of every month aside from March (due to SXSW), at the Baby A's on N - I35. They usually have some guest speakers, and it tends to be pretty educational, and a good opportunity to meet fellow creative types. The Network Austin Mixer is happening tonight (Wednesday the 9th) starting at 6pm. Feel free to come out and say hi. I'm pretty easy to spot (custom eyepatch). I believe I posted the location info earlier in the thread. It'll be pretty crowded I bet. If you'd like to do a specific stage 32 meetup sometime, I'm up for that too, provided I'm available at the time.

Hi all - We should put something together for May so everyone has time to arrange their schedules. AustinFilmMeet is on May 5 and the NetworkAustinMixer is on May 14. So, how about Tuesday, May 20th, we meet up? 7pm? Any location ideas? I'm saying Tuesday in case there are folks who can never make the Monday or Thursday meet-ups; this would give them a chance to make some kind of event. If that's a weird day, we can change it :)

Sounds like a fine idea to me, Venus. I'll go ahead and put the date on my calendar for now, and will chime in if I think of a good location. There are some decent places around, certainly. edit: Depending on the numbers, there are a couple of chill spots centrally located in the UT/Hyde park area: Tom's Tabooley near Guadalupe & 30th, or Zen near 35th and Guadalupe.

I'm down with a meetup on May 20th. I have a studio in South Austin we can use for it so we don't have to worry about weather.

6:30 sounds great! The studio address is: 1701 W Ben White Blvd Ste 115 Austin, TX 78704 It's in the same mall as Gold's Gym and in the parking lot behind the Blazer Tag. It has a red door and the signage reads Lingo Interactive.

Hi Leon, Don't really have the answer to that one, since I didn't make that other meeting, of course I sure would like to have, perhaps I'm going to have to move down to Austin. In dallas it's rather stagnant as far as I can tell.

I'd love to have ya'll at the studio again. We're doing a little moving around so I'm not exact on the date, but will see if anyone's interested when the dust settles over here. I do know there's meet ups happening all the time in ATX, especially if you're an actor or model. There are a couple FB pages you can throw a question onto (or here, for that matter!) to see if anything is happening and groups that powwow via meetup.com

Leon, do you ever get to dallas, perhaps you can carpool and bring a few creatives and we can discuss starting up some projects together. That is if you up for that. Take care, RICH

How does September 20th at 7pm sound (open to 19th, 20th, 26th, or 27th, too if it works better for everyone)? We have clear days in the studio in South Austin and we'd be happy to host. We can have some post-dinner snacks to fuel some conversation.

Thanks for chiming in Danielle! 19th or 20th would be ok for me, I guess I would have an afternoon class on the 20th but it only goes from 11-2, so it should be okay either way. I'll be out of town as of the 24th until the end of the month, so anytime prior to that is good.
