not necessarily. Some start off in modeling. Some start off by acting in high school plays and then go to college and major in fine arts and start off in plays. Some start off at local theatres. Some start off by doing student films and low budget independent films.

Well I do know Jackie Chan got started that way. So did Kevin Beacon. Best of luck to you though. What ever approach you take, if you stay persistent and fight for it you will succeed.
