Hi, I'am Marlijn Franken, a Dutch artist and independent filmmaker. Preparing this wonderful film project "La Lutte, Snow and Sand". Working low-budget I started a crowdfunding project to fund our necessary costs, until the amount of euro 8.500. Please let me tell you the story. La Lutte, snow and sand, a documentary roadmovie by Marlijn Franken ‘This will be the craziest thing I ever did!’ John Harald Foss Fjeldbu John is a wrestler from the Norwegian national team. He is curious. He wants to experience everything about his sport. His dream is to one day participate in "La Lutte", Senegalese wrestling in the arena’s of Dakar. By coincidence he meets Dutch filmmaker Marlijn Franken and her partner Reinier. They know Dakar, they speak the language and understand and love the culture. This gave birth to the idea to combine snow and sand, to make a movie about wrestling, about achieving something incredible. Three people on their way to Dakar "La Lutte, Snow and Sand" will be a documentary roadmovie to Dakar. About a wrestler, an organiser and a film maker in Senegal’s culture full of voodoo rituals. There "La Lutte" is thé national sport. With super enthousiastic fans who support their hero’s in sold-out arena’s. Will John succeed and fight in the arena in Dakar? Will Reinier be able to make it happen? Will Marlijn succeed to capture this journey on tape? This project needs supporters Marlijn hopes to realise this project by means of crowdfunding.
