cheers everyone. i'm game for all types of films and roles, but my passion is to create films that inspire people to seek after a relationship with God. props to everyone who continues to press on in this difficult industry to make your dreams come to life :)

Great to meet you! I have my own production company where we produce stories that are inspiring, uplifting or based on a true story. They are not necessarily Christian but I am a Christian and I am really selective in what stories we tell. Plus, we treat everyone on set with encouragement, teamwork and respect. Break a leg with all your endeavors.

That's great, Ingrid! Thank you for clueing me in on what you do; I'll keep up with you and your projects. It's nice to be following someone with intention. By the way, I like your website - very clean and organized.

It would be great to keep in touch. Thanks for looking at my website and for your feedback!

This is so cool how Christians can connect and make films which are worth making and watching, I am a composer who is looking to compose music for Christian films and films which have good Christian moral values.

Lina Jones

It is a difficult industry and they need all the positive energy they can get. God Bless,

Venus Monique

thanks, lina :) i totally agree, sarah - i think it's awesome to have the same positive passion and purpose

hey alle, i totally understand what you're saying about trying to reach as many people as possible by not limiting myself through the roles/films i choose. i do think that God gave us all different passions and desires and mine is to spread His love through acting, whether that be through the story, on set, at premieres, interviews, wherever. from the beginning, i realized that by holding myself to certain standards (for example, i'm married and respect my husband so i'm not game for physically romantic roles), that my path to 'success' may be slow and definitely different than other's paths, but i'm prepared for that because in the end, i have to look back down my own mountain and be okay with what i chose to do. if you wanna check out some films involving God, God's Not Dead is doing amazingly in theaters right now :) Heaven is For Real is coming out soon. Fireproof did great in theaters and Courageous even topped Fireproof's sales. The Blindside also had a very inspirational message in it. being a part of films that aren't about God highly peaks my interest, also... stories about stuggle, pain, triumph, a message of overcoming, etc. we all have our own interests, and this is mine, so i'll trek down this path as long as i can.

That's awesome. Come to Salt Lake City. There are tons of christian films being made here. In fact there is a professional studio here and that's all they do. I have an audition for one this friday.

My short christian based film "FLEE" was well received during sundance. Have private screenings in my suite and gave away a few hundred copies. That snow-balled into to me winning an award at an actual film festival. The local in Utah rock!

Venus Monique

i'm glad to hear you're progressing into features, nate. that's aweome! i'll try to put my reel up today :) as far as genres, i really enjoy action, comedy and suspense. i know there are sub-genres to each, but that's the simple answer. dan, i had no idea there were that many being made in Salt Lake City. i knew there were a couple, but i'm glad there are more! i'm not opposed to going somewhere to film, that's for sure. yay for the locals, greg! i've honestly always felt that you have to give things away for free in order for you to get somewhere. then word of mouth (and a little nudge from God, if that's your go-to) will really get the ball rolling. congratulations on your festival award!

If you are going to present a christian film, Utah is the place to do it. And sundance is in utah. Utah is a very conservative religious place. Most people know utah for the mormons. and there are a ton of mormon movies. but there are also a lot of other religions here as well. there is a budhist temple here, a holy chrishna temple here, lots of born again christian churches. It's very much a family friendly type place and they film a lot of family movies here. So if you present a good christian based film, your odds of winning awards is much better then say, an unethical movie.

Hey Nate, I added my reel that night that we talked about it. You can view it on my 'videos' page, or here's a link to find it, also. https://www.youtube.com/user/VenusMonique/videos Hope you're all having a great start to your weekend :)
