Your Stage : The limelight is on Josefa: A beautiful and stubborn 1820’s Spanish heroine-turned-villainess by Conchita Serri

Join me (Conchita) in making my mom’s wishes become a possible film reality (shh… it is a secret!). I need to hire a screen writer to write a screenplay based on the fictionalized life of our ancestor, Josefa del Pumar. My mom just finished writing a first draft of a monograph (quite the scholar, my mom!) based on letters Josefa had sent to the King of Spain circa 1820 asking for a pension, after being expelled from Venezuela by Simon Bolivar. Josefa, a young widow, was Simon Bolivar's sworn foe. I, Josefa, is the treatment I wrote depicting an unlikely powerful and politicized and stubborn Spanish/Venezuelan heroine-turned-villainess in the early 1820's. The story entails a period piece/epic saga with Spanish/Venezuelan/Puerto Rican revolutionary armies, pirates, family intrigue, betrayal, resentments with the Spanish King, political themes, a beautiful and stubborn woman, and a forbidden, passionate and controversial romance with a former nobleman-pirate and political insurgent. The script will be based on -mostly- a true and fascinating family history that my mom helped uncover. An action laden script, Josefa’s story is suitable for (a) a movie, (b) a telenovela and/or (c) a History Channel true story. Josefa was the Marchioness of Pumar, La Marquesa del Pumar, headstrong daughter of El Marquez del Pumar. Thank you for your support!
