NO Short Cuts! How to Have an Acting Career You Will Be Proud Of.

Which Great Actors, Writers and Directors Would You Kill To Work With? Almost every day I hear actors asking, “What I need to do get noticed”. As acting teachers our job isn’t just to teach you the craft, we need to help you become professionals with all that word means. We also need to help with acting tips and career advice that will help you get work in our industry. That got me thinking about, what is the one thing every actor I know that works consistently has in common. What is the common denominator to success that all of these actors share? If I could put my finger on that I would have the “Holy Grail”. THE key to a successful career. This is what I came up with. Who are your favorite actors and directors? Which actors and directors would you really like to work with? What is special and unique about them? What do they all have in common? Why did you chose them? Research them. Find out where they studied, how they work. In most cases you will find they are passionate about acting. They love it and work extremely hard researching and creating their characters and they are all respected as real pros. Because of that you aren’t the only one that wants to work with them. Other great actors and directors are always trying involve them in their projects and work with them. Build your work ethic early. Make being a professional a habit. The place to start doing this in class. When you aren’t working, your class is your set. You are a professional actor, act like one, prepare like one. Make it your habit. Start working on a scene the day you receive it and work on it every day until you know everything there is to know about it. Treat it like it is a real scene for a real job. Know your lines, be on time, be passionate, and be professional. Be the actor everyone wants to work with in class. Become the actor everyone wants to work with. That is the most important step actors fail to take when trying to build a career. Talented, creative, dedicated professionals want to work with other talented, creative, dedicated professionals. It is probably the most economical way to actually develop a real career as an actor. And when you get the chance to work always fully prepare, be on time, collaborate, bring your passion to the set, and pretty soon you will be the actor everyone wants to work with. You will have a career. Guaranteed! You will have a career you enjoy and can be proud of. If you are passionate about acting and bring that to everything you do, you will become someone everyone wants to work with. You will work. You may not become famous or rich but you will work consistently doing what they love to do – ACT! Isn’t that why you became an actor? http://pennytempletonstudio.com/acting-tips-real-acting-career-guaranteed/ I post daily tips on FaceBook Penny Templeton Studio and Twitter @PennyTempleton #Hankstipoftheday
