Online Pitchfest XV: Horror/Thriller/Suspense experience

Just wanted to publicly thank Joey and the execs for taking the time this past weekend to listen to the pitches. It was a great experience and I personally gained a great deal from it. It's nice to have a genre pitchfest in particular. Knowing that your audience is ready to hear your literal horror story helps in the delivery of the pitch. I highly recommend taking part in these as the become available.

Richard "RB" Botto

Thrilled to hear you had a positive experience, Blake. And I thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Leah Waller

Hey - I don't normally do horror but I read your log line and I'm sold!! It sounds really great! I want to know how it ends!! Does he find his family! Is there a cure?! Very well done!

Blake Andrew

Thanks, Leah! People who've read it say it's only partially a horror movie. There's far more to it. I'll send it to you if you'd like to read it. Still a bit leery putting my script up on here.

Leah Waller

Totally agree - you won't see my script or my log lines online! (I love you Stage 32, I've met so fabulous people here, but it's still a public forum.) Yeah, I would love to read your script. Do you want to do a swap?

Blake Andrew

Sure - what's the best way? Email? I'm kinda new here...

Heath Vinyard

I agree these are awesome and Joey does a great job at putting them together and getting quality execs in for us. I've not had much luck with them myself, but that's probably a combination of my pitch, my work, and what the exec is looking for.

Leah Waller

Keep at it!! With each pitch you learn something and can tighten it up. You'll find your "home" soon, I'm sure!

Heath Vinyard

Thanks Joey. I appreciate the nice comments. I'm working on adding to my reel and tightening up my writing I will be back for sure! Congratulations on all the success. You're one of the most helpful and nicest people I've met during this struggle and I appreciate all the help you've given.

Heath Vinyard

Thanks for the positive encouragement Leah! :)

Leah Waller

I have to second that - Joey is easily one of the nicest people I've come across in this business. All the moderators are wonderful but Joey's good vibes and smile are infectious. If you start a pitch with a smile, you are headed in the right direction - and I dare you not to reflect Joey's smile!

Leah Waller

Your welcome, Heath. I read you log line - they are interesting - the Replaced sounds very cool! I was hooked!

Laurie Ashbourne

Of course you can, Joey.

Ryan D. Canty

Joey is one of the nicest people out there. And I'm glad I finally submitted for this pitch Fest because I got a script request from Ghost House Pictures! Yaaay! But these pitchfest are great and I'm definitely doing more of them in the future!!!!

Richard "RB" Botto

Congratulations, Ryan! Awesome news, man. Well deserved.

Nicholas Cariddo

I agree- these opportunities are such a gift
