I joined last month and feel very excited by the possibilities Stage32 offers to writers and filmmakers. I listened to Richard's webinar last night and got a lot of great information. How wonderful we have the technology that can link us all together wherever in the world we are. Briefly, I'm a British writer and filmmaker and have been working in the UK and US film industries for 20 years. I lived in LA from 2004 to 2012 and am now back in London. LA fascinated me as a location but I felt overwhelmed by the size and diffuseness of the film industry. I like maps - to map a territory, to see it how it fits together - and when a feature project I had in development there in 2006 fell away I got depressed and lost faith. But I can't help it! I love film and writing, creating other worlds and populating them with characters that feel very real to me, and most of all I love story. I am passionate about how stories work, why they do or don't. I am always learning, which is also why I love teaching - because I learn more that way, from the challenges other writers present to me. I am now back on track, sending out projects and scripts, and following my bliss. Stage 32 provides us creatives with a very real way to make our dreams come true. May the force be with us!
Howdy Alan! Ditto, Yesterdays webinar was impressive and motivating for me too. Pleased to "meet" you and all the best!!
Greetings to you too, Lesa. As creatives, we can become lost and adrift in how to make our dreams come true. Stage32 gives us hope!
