Introduce Yourself : The Big Apple Indie Music Series aka TBAIMS.... by Jon Landers

I just wanted to reintroduce myself as the Founder and CEO of The Big Apple Indie Music Series aka TBAIMS. This is a music showcase designed to connect independent music artists with music, entertainment, tv and film industry executives each and every month at a venue in New York City. Currently, we are hosting these showcases at Toshi's Living Room on 26th Street and Broadway. We started these showcases back in January of 2013 at the Gibson Guitar Studios on the West Side of Midtown Manhattan. After hosting at this venue for the first seven months, we moved on to The Cutting Room, Tammany Hall, Tobacco Road and currently Toshi's where we will remain until further notice. Each month we invite up to 5 independent music artists which are carefully reviewed to perform a live 20 minute set each. In addition, in the first hour of each event before the showcase starts, we invite all music artists, whether or not they are booked to perform that night, to come and network as well as have the opportunity to purchase a five minute music pitch session with any of the A&R's and industry professionals that attend. This is an one on one opportunity to get your music heard and receive some feedback from them. All submissions are made through a choice of websites to include Reverbnation, Sonicbids and TalentArmuPromotions. Currently, we are receiving in excess of 3400 submissions a month and growing. Once we have secured the needed corporate sponsors to help support our efforts, we will start to replicate these showcases across North America and eventually globally. It is my intention to change the way the independent music artist is supported in this industry coming from a totally different industry just 3 years ago.
