Filmmaking / Directing : Short Film/TV Drama Pilot by Drica Armstrong

I've been developing my TV Drama Pilot, The Martineque, for a little over two months now. I love the story line and once the pilot is done I hope to shop it around to see if it gets picked up. I am also writing a short film called, His Dying Wish. I would like to shoot it in NJ/NYC but crews cost about as much as college tuition. I feel a nervous about what I'm about to embark on but I'm ready to take that leap. Any advice????
