Screenwriting : What script should I insist on more? by Victor Titimas

Victor Titimas

What script should I insist on more?

I have 2 screenplays I want to work on, so they may one day be sent to one of the services providing query services or access to various producers, agents, etc.(I recently found about a few of them, while browsing the internet) My greatest dream is to bring all of my... 12...:) screenplays to a good enough level but for the moment, I can only focus on one at the time... I would like to work on one of the following two: 1)An action screenplay set in a present day big city. It involves gunfights, Mafia families, crooked cops and diamonds.. 2)A supernatural/horror type of story with some action elements in it(fights, shooting, other action elements) that features ghosts, demons and witchcraft. Which one do you think I should focus on at this time? Which of these subjects do you find more interesting? Which one would make people want to know more and request to read it? Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Geof Spalding

They could both be good. What is the hook? What is it that makes your story unique?

Cherie Grant

It depends on what's involved in these stories as to what's more interesting. Though I personally don't care for mafia films.

Alex Craig

I say write the one that tugs on your heart the most and do all sorts of research to make the story feel real. Just because you don't understand a world doesn't mean you can't create it. Use the internet, newspapers, and the library to understand the world you want to create. I say go for it and don't give up! If you need help with your screenplay you can shoot me a message. One more word of encouragement. David S. Goyer buried himself in Batman and Superman comics to be able to create two separate wonderful worlds. You know why he was so successful? Research. Research is a writers friend.

Anthony Mouasso

For me it's all about the characters. The more ambivalent, life like they are or can be the more I want to follow them!

Bianca Gray

I agree with Antonio. If you have more passion for one than the other, you will do it justice and go that extra mile to ensure it will be brilliant. Good luck with it.

P. Alan Richards

Write the one that you are passionate about.
