Hello to all. I have been acting for quite a few years and writing for 7 or 8 years. People ask me which I prefer and I have to say that I am not certain. I like acting for the character development and making moments happen, but the same can be said for writing. My basic feeling is that I want to write things that actors want to perform. Any thoughts?

Hello Silke, I prefer acting over screenwriting. Especially on stage, there is nothing like theatre. I like to express myself fully with my body and like you said above; being able to embrace those moments through the character. I got into screenwriting simply to cope with my urge to act when I cannot. But as far as screenwriting, I love that fact that I can let my imagination run wild on the page. But yes I would rather be on my feet acting. Thank you for sharing Silke.

For me, both offer a variety of riches and rewards. There is an intimacy, yet nakedness to each. I guess the question is: Why choose? Flexibility in creativity is a wonderful gift.
