I am a writer full of ideas and a degree in professional procrastination so hopefully being on here will kick my butt into getting those ideas onto paper and out of my head. =) Happy Writing and creating to all.

Start putting those ideas on paper as they come to you. This does not mean writing a full story just putting down the idea so you would not forget the idea.
I try Leonard believe me I try lol
The more you do it , the easier it is to do. Always have pad and pen with you wherever you go. I am presently writing two stories at the same time .Have you published anything that you have written? I have a book out called Truth or Lies, Life or Death. I wrote it after it came to me in a dream. My web page is outskirtspress.com/truthorlies. email lalmond411@comcast.net.

"I am a writer full of ideas and a degree in professional procrastination..." Oh No! I found a kindred spirit!

Hi, I'm a fantasy writer from Kent. Writing is my life, but work keeps getting in the way! I wish writing would pay more, then I could devote my life to The L-Shaped Village (my fantasy series). Good to connect with you.

A trip of a thousand miles begins with one step and it is the biggest one of all. Keep taking one step at a time. Having a dream and not doing anything to achieve it is so much worse than having a dream and trying to achieve it and failing. Not doing anything to reach your dream means never having to fail but it also means never achieving anything either. I know this from experience. I have published a book called Truth or Lies, Life or Death and now I'm in the process of getting it out to the public beyond family and friends. There is so much to do and I have no idea where to turn. Sometimes it seems so daunting, but I keep trying. Best of luck, keep stepping.

I just heard something the other day that stayed with me "Quitters Never Win and Winners Never Quit." As long as you're trying you're NOT QUITTING.
Actually making an appointment to write is like applying air to your lungs--you know you have to do it and the more you do it the easier it gets--ha ha
TL I think how you describe yourself is how most, if not all writing creatives feel at one point or another. I experienced a burst of creativity some years ago and frantically tried to document each idea without actually finishing it. I've ended up with fragments of some 10-13 scripts (depending if a couple or three of them become sequels) that I think could be made into movies with varying degrees of success. The thing that has helped me get off the snide and work on just one of my ideas at a time, is the process of bringing my own works to content. Going through the process of becoming a content provider has been a time consuming, yet fascinating experience. And I learned that simply putting words on computer screen didn't work for me. I had to feel the whole process of getting from writing my words to an audience before I could home in on that one project and put the rest aside. (obtw, be sure you put those jottings of your different ideas in a safe place and all together... I didn't do that and find myself having to sort through flash drives, hdds, out-of-service computers, CD storage, DVD storage, you name it---just trying to find what I wrote at the time that may have been useable. For even though I'm still working on 1 project at a time, I still want to touch base with the other ones so as to keep them in the queue as a future most-important-project.) In my case, I found the vehicle (content creation) that fired my passion. Fired it to the point that I've gone to extremes such as doing without air conditioning in the hot summer time and central heat in the winter time... this and other things to save money to be used to buy the tools I require to fondle my passion. I would suggest, based on my own experience, you are not a procrastinator... you just haven't found what fuels your passion.
I've been trying to get a novel done for 3 years now and it is a challenge. I've tended to rely on "inspiration" and "creative energy" in the past and that doesn't always serve me well.
Always fun to meet a fellow writer! Writing a novel is a challenge, I have my first one finally done and off to the publisher but the other one I'm working on has proven to be a fun challenge. Playing off of what Jeff said, I have to have a bit of "inspiration" and "creative energy" in order to write. Otherwise, I tend to burn out. I'm new to Stage 32 as well but look forward to meeting people who share interests and maybe helping each other to meet our goals. Best of luck in your writing!
Hi TL. It’s nice to have you aboard. This group is comprised of a lot of willing, kind and helpful folk (with a few snits.) You didn’t mention what type of writing you do (I teach screenwriting) but whatever type it is, I recommend the BIS (Butt In Seat) method.
Hello TL. Welcome to Stage 32 and please feel free to connect with me.
Interesting in screenwriting?
Welcome TL
Welcome to the "push studio" hope it is as motivating as it was for me. One thing I recommend to all posters is that they state where they are located, I know everyone thinks we can all connect on the web but this business IMHO does require a lot of hands on and money do not forget the money LOL
I am posting from Sonoma County, California. Welcome TL. Congratulations on your procrastination degree. What is IMHO?
Welcome TL! Nice to meet you, and looking forward to seeing some of your work. :)
Welcome TL.In a short few days you'll feel like you're at home.
I don't get it. Writers write every day. There no rule that say you have to love every minute of it. sometimes it's not fun at all. Just write anything, it becomes a habit. Writing to me is not a process of organizing a system around a novel, a play etc. although it can be, sometimes I open a book of paintings. I walk into the painting and write what I don't see when I'm standing outside. "Oh look there a fucking bear heading my direction" Dreams, write down dreams in waking hours. Write poems, read poems out loud. Read authors you like. Who has time to procrastinate? Well I guess I can fit a little procrastination in there somewhere. dh
I mean, I agree, but at the same time, I'm not going to beat myself up if life gets in the way. But in a sense, we all do write everyday but I guess I don't always feel like it counts if it's not working on one of my current projects.
in my humble OPINION
