Taking a moment out of my day and learning new and unbelievable new social skill that I used to think sucked. As a part of my marketing module in school it is mandatory that we make our social skill pay off equal to our writing...makes sense! But for someone who has never tweeted or whatever it can be a bit intimidating. Much to my surprise, I came across Stage32 which I think is a fabulous concept. Now I just have to put it to work and learn all about it. I've taken classes for years from some of the best ie; Syd Field, Robert McKee, UCLA extension classes in film/screenwriting, name it I've done it...now I think it's high time I put up and shut up....nah....I'll never stop writing. I just have never considered this a profession, too busy paying bills, being a single mom and every other terrible excuse, to allow myself to be vulnerable and even good. And that's where I'm at. I have several scripts under my belt, tons of stories, poetry, you name it, but never did anything with it. Now I am. And now you know where I'm at and who I am, for the most part. I live in Arizona, got divorced and couldn't afford my San Diego home or living in California...I do miss it and the business of a city. I need two homes, I loved living in Montana, Nevada, Colorado as well, it's the country girl in me, and the other at the beach. Dreams do come true don't they? Thanks for reading...have a good one. Best to all of you/us! jj
I usually pile up my stories, poems, and films in blogs or notebooks. This doesn't happen to me only in the case of plays. Since I write most of them in the rehearsal room, I push it as a director to make it happen. It's quite inspiring to read your note. Gives me energy half way across the world to make what I want to do as a career, let's name it later! :) Best to you. Sam.
