Okay, as promised I have the full film I did a few weeks. just so you know I do not think this is the best thing since sliced bread. for a group that had NEVER done one,(not including myself) it was not a train wreck. sure there can be lots that can be done with it, but it is a 48hr film after all. not that i am saying that all 48 hr films are not good, because I do not think that. I have seen some incredible 48 hr films, including the ones I saw at the screenings.I like to think of our as a good start for this team. https://www.stage32.com/media/919423826809332618
We have something in common. We're both part of the 48 hour film group.
which film did you do?
"That's the problem with this younger generation - no commitment. Quit before you complete your task! What's this world coming to?" ;-)
LOL. very nice.
Nice concept. You know you could expand this to a half-hour short by giving back-stories to the characters as well as after-stories.
Hello Hayler, I hope all is well. You did a great job to have never done this before. I like your variations of shot choice. I have to agree with James, you could easily expand this into a half-hour short. I am working on my first short that I have written. This will be my first short I am directing and I have been working hard to get this movie made. You could FOLLOW my Film Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tables-Turn/861383507222184 I am praying my project will not be a train wreck. :) I have great faith that all will go well. If you need support or help with any of your projects, please contact me. I wish you all the best and much success in all you do! Have a blessed day!
it was the directors first time doing . I had done one other one. I would love to be able to make this longer. I would have to talk with the director of it. I was only an actor for it. even though they were doing all the suggestions I offered. It is an entry for the san Francisco's 48 film festival. Unfortunately we did not get nominated for anything. fortunately there were a lot of really great films that DID get made. the highlights and award ceremony is tomorrow night night.
Here's another story that deserves attention: http://theblacksphere.net/2013/08/black-teens-kill-88-year-old-wwii-vet-... The loss of any human life is a serious tragedy.
Here's an NBC news story about the incident. It provides a lot more details: http://www.nbcnews.com/news/other/second-teen-charged-wwii-vets-murder-f...
@Hayley - the important thing is that you tried. Keep on trying - that's what leads to success.
I completely agree with you there. just gotta keep on truckin. this last weekend I met a director that has oscar winning movies. that was really cool
Follow up with that! Ask if he needs any assistance on his next shoot! The door has just opened for you. Walk on in!
well i was only background and didnt want to be pushy since there was alot going that day. it was Lana Wachowski. director of famous movies for example: The Matrix. She was cool and even took a picture with us people down at the bottom of the totum pole. i put it in with my pictures, and she even took my business card,. even though it will probably end up in the trash she didnt have to take. and she was really nice,
Why don't you find out her mailing address and send her a "thank-you"note and ask if she has other projects that you can help with? There are a lot of nice people in this business. Make connections with them.
Hey Hayley. For our Warren/Detroit 2014 48Hour contest entry I won't be participating. They have an upcoming meeting to discuss the specifics of how they plan to organize. Prior to that you can check this link. http://www.youtube.com/user/CharleneJeter1 I was involved with Fast Food Mockumentary, Zombie News Report, and Wrong Girl. The next project will be a script I penned called False Black Flag. Once its filmed I hope you have a chance to check it out.
The hardest thing in life is being able to filter out all the extraneous noise from useful information.
well it is not the hardest, but it can be difficult
It is the hardest, since you never know if you have filtered all of it out.

@Alle I take it this was directed at me. "As a 48 hour film, I guess it's OK. 48 hour competitions don't enable great depth of planning really. Unless you pretty much pre-plan and that's cheating." If you actually knew, the particular group I'm in was getting verbal commitments from individuals to participate fully two days straight. There was no level of pre-planning. The majority of your posts are derivative. You've been exposed on multiple different posts as not being remotely qualified to dispense your "expert" opinion. Yet you continue. Why?
Okay I went to the Maple Theater to see group C and D entrants for the 2014 48Hours Detroit. I noticed something prior to reading Alle's post. Some of the contestants clearly shoehorned in the elements for the 48 hour competition. Their production was very clean and very much pre-planned well in advance. The vast majority were spur of the moment and it showed in the overall quality. I'm currently on the fence. Stay in the spirit of the contest or output the most professional short you can while including the elements.
