First, I want to thank Emily Verdict and all the respondents to her original L.A. Meetup suggestion. I'm starting a new thread here for this new Meetup opportunity at Cantor's restaurant/deli. This s NOT connected to the July 17th, Meetup at PERCH, Downtown (which I plan to attend) because we don't want to interfere with their own hard work in organizing this already upcoming Meetup. We want to co-ordinate this new Meetup with a dose of Reality. Everyone has different schedules and no one should feel compelled to attend any Meetup if they are working, auditioning, filming, etc. WORK COMES FIRST! We want this this Meetup to be inclusive for ALL of the many Professions, Trades, Crafts and Occupations throughout the entire Stage 32 members in the Entertainment Industry. So, spread the word to ALL of the many various Lounge topic groups. Next, we want to consider ROTATING the Meetups from Friday one month to Saturday the next month and Sunday the following month, in succession, so that more members have an opportunity to attend, eventually. The projected Hours of the Meetups need to be considered as well. NOW, THIS NEXT PART IS IMPORTANT! We want Cantor's to be given as much notice as possible, especially for the FIRST Meetup. So when you respond to this thread, please provide the following info: (1) Do you prefer Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? (2) What are the best START and END Hours for the potential Meetup? To keep things simple for this first try at organizing: do you prefer 4PM, 5PM, 6PM, 7PM, 8PM for a Start time? Do you prefer 8PM, 9PM, 10PM,11PM, 12 Midnight for an End time? Work with me here and respond with your preferences for Day/Times. I will try to compile your answers and figure out what accommodates the most Stage 32 members (I could use some help here from other members tracking and compiling the responses, because unlike most of you, I apparently have all of the Accounting, Graphing and Social Scheduling skills of a Lobotomized Amoeba or maybe a bowl of oatmeal at best.) I think we might be able to put this together in time to schedule this First L.A. Meetup at Cantor's by the end of July/Beginning of August. Thanks, SJJ.
Canter's is with an "e" not an "o", sorry about the misspelling. My Bad! SJJ
Hey, Stephen. My only concern about Cantor's is that on weekend evenings, the only free parking lot fills up really, really quickly. I would suggest, then, that if Cantor's is the place, then the recommended times are before the big crowds, like 5-ish.
Hi Marni! Yes, parking at Canter's can be harsh. However, street parking within a couple of blocks of Canter's is much cheaper or free in comparison to Valet or underground parking at some big building downtown. Just a thought. So, I have that you prefer a possible 5PM start time. What day? Fri/Sat/Sun? Please advise so I can start to chart preferences.
Well, if it's on a Friday, I think maybe starting between 6 and 7 works for most people who have day jobs. I have a weird, unpredictable (horrid) day job, so I'm flexible. But Friday seems to work best for me. I've got kids and on Fridays, they're with my folks. :-)
Thanks Marni, I've got your Meetup preferences now (you're the first!) I'm looking forward to hearing from a lot more of you soon, with your Day/Time prefs, so we can make this happen! SJJ
Now that it appears that a monthly Stage 32 meet-up is working out at Busby's, and the lack of interest for Canter's. It would be best to end this thread for now. Everyone in all groups, spread the word about Busby's and lets make it for all Stage 32 members, regardless of which group may be a sponsor from month to month. Thanks, SJJ.
:-)

Stephen, We would love to have you join us at Busby's. It worked out incredibly well. $5 drinks and $1 tacos, a private room and a great group of people. The room can hold a few hundred people. Sure there are gamers in the other group too....but still film/TV and Composers as well. They have name tags....with colored dots so you know who is doing what. They also give out door prizes. I think as Stage32 grows there will be room for more groups. The problem now....most of LA Stage32 people don't realize they need to look under meet ups. They think someone will invite them.

Hi David, I will try to make the Busby's meet ups whenever possible, thanks for the info. Maybe Richard can mention it in a blog, so everyone will know. The more crafts and groups across the spectrum in the meet ups, the better!
