On July 12th, from 1-5pm, the Austin 48 Hour Film Project will be holding auditions for local actors to introduce themselves to our Team Leaders! While our teams are encouraged to bring sides, performers are asked to prepare a 2-minute monologue. Groups may also audition using a prepared skit or improv scenario. To sign up for an audition time, go to: http://www.48hourfilm.com/en/austin/
wish I was in Austin. sadly i am over in California near San francisco. i have a few 48 hr films under my belt. We just had the highlights and awards ceremony tonight for the san francisco region of the 48 hr film festival. there were a lot of great pieces. what genre are you guys hoping you get? is this your first time doing one? very awesome that you have to audition in Austin. here you just get your team who you want in it and go. bet you guys come up with some good quality pieces since you have to audition to get in. let me know how it turns out.
Actually, I'm the City Producer -- I pass out the genres. This is my second year running the show and I'm still learning as I go. I'm the third CP Austin has had -- the first ran it for over a decade! I hope to be doing this at least as long. Auditions are necessary, but they help. I met other CPs at Filmapalooza this year who held auditions, so I thought I'd try it in Austin. Maybe you can participate next year?
Let me know if you need a sound guy

the reason that I cant participate witg you is not because the avalibility. it is because of distance.texas is too far away. Hope you have a great turnout.
Tiago, our teams will definitely need sound guys! We have 30 teams, so far, and any one of them might need you. Follow that link and look for another called "Join A Team." If you sign up there, not only can our team leaders find you, but I'll invite you to a networking group on Facebook. We've had two teams come out of that, alone.
