Would you mind telling us exactly what steps occurred from getting your script written to getting it into this guy's hands? I'd be really interested in knowing. Did you go through Joey Tuccio and Stage 32? Or was it an unsolicited submission? Please, there are people out here who need to know this stuff.

Thanks guys! Curtis -- it was through Joey Tuccio/Stage 32 Happy Writers. I did a written pitch. Obviously, I recommend this service :) I've also gotten scripts into the hands of major prodco's and agencies via blind email querying, contest placements, and even cold calling. Do not discount any method! Best of luck to you...

Congratulations, Mark, a good pitch is worth it's weight in gold. I think you're in a good genre. Producers are looking for scripts with a limited cast, few locations and little to no special effects. I write science fiction which is very expensive to produce and a really tough sell. I think the UK may be my best market. Best to you in the future.

Thanks! As an update: we had a great meeting. He passed my script along to someone he knows at WME (fingers crossed) and requested to read other scripts of mine and said if we can find the right idea he'd be up for developing something together from the ground up! From my standpoint, couldn't have gone any better. Great to see all these other success stories and wishing you all the best of luck with your projects! Just keep writing and pitching...:)

Thanks, guys! And thanks for checking in, Donna. Ryan Christians and I spoke on the phone a while back and he's a great guy. Besides passing along my script to a friend of his at WME, he asked me to send him more material and I ended up sending him another comedy that he loved but had significant notes on -- basically he wanted to develop it with me. Guess this is both good and bad but in the end other stuff came up with screenwriting that prevented me from having enough time to do that -- I got a paid assignment to adapt a short of mine into a feature, I optioned a script to a producer/director who wanted some rewrites as part of that, and especially, I got an established director attached to a sitcom pilot of mine and he quickly got his agency involved and we are now pitching it to the cable networks (!!) Anyway... once things settle down a bit I definitely plant to go back to this script and apply Ryan's terrific notes to it. Thanks again for checking in and good luck with all your stuff.
