Hello all, A friend recommended I join this awesome community, so here I am and I'm really liking it so far! I have been in LA for 1 year, and am ready to get to work! I have a background in classical violin and photography. I'm excited to meet new people in LA, so please don't be shy! I just completed my entry for Project Greenlight which I shot in 9 hours in the Mojave Desert, and then had 1 week in Post. Whew. It was 112 degrees on set, but I love being pushed to the limit as you start to feel alive creatively. After all, if this kind of work were easy, then everyone would be doing it, right? The 3 minute time limit is crazy, so I will be making a longer cut of this film shortly. Enjoy... http://vimeo.com/102910458

No way, I watched the Roads & Rides feature on that Wastelander car only yesterday. Grest stuff Israel! Love this genre and hope your project gets lots of attention.

Actually none of the wide shots were compressed and all of the near shots were above 50 mm so not sure how you're reading that. :) It was around 115 towards the hottest part of the day, and yeah, I'm still recovering to some degree. Thanks for your compliments, CJ! Three minute films that try to sell story arcs or character arcs always feel forced/preachy to me unless they are extremely refined. We only had a week to produce, write, and compile everything, and I did all the post work myself including the score and the VFX, and we also shot it all in 9 hours and I was the only camera operator/DP. I'm not a visual effects animator by any means but I have learned quite a bit of increasing basics over the last few years and each time I do them they get better. I wanted this film to feel like you had channel surfed into perhaps the 3 min climax of a two hour feature, albeit hopefully one with nuanced, stylistic elements. Ultimately the 3 min limit hurts the edit a bit, I will probably cut a 5 minute version soon. I also feel it is a little too abstract for the average film watcher, people in general want things served up nice and easy and obvious... but it definitely reflects my general sensibilities.
