Hi Jasmine, I really liked your composition. If I were you I would use a better brass VST and distortion sound guitars which are in front of the sound. Composers such as Brian Tyler, John Powell use brass section well and I think you can use them as reference for this kind of composition:). I really like to hear distortion guitar in these kind of action scenes. It exaggerates the dynamic feel with percussion. I will be following your forthcoming samples. Cheers, EMRE

Hi Jasmine, I enjoyed your composition, and have no criticisms of the compositional technique itself. I like piano ostinato, the strong sense of continuity throughout, and how the music doesn't distract from the visuals. Your timing and cues are good, and I especially enjoyed the moment when the metal doors explode inwards. Very exciting! My main criticism of the piece is that I feel a disconnect between the tone of the music and the subject of the trailer. When I listened to the music without the video, I could more easily imagine some mysterious and exciting jungle ruin than urban gangland. More Tomb Raider than GTA I imagine that's where Feridun was suggesting some distorted guitar would come in handy; it would help capture the gritty modern tone of the game more effectively than the current instrumentation. Maybe try finding a nice guitar patch and adding it to your current composition to see if you feel it helps better satisfy the video. That's a very minor point, but it's something to keep in mind as you progress in your career and there are more creative demands placed on you. Personally, I've never scored a trailer, and the last time I tried, it was disastrous! I'm inspired to try again though, ty :) Thanks for sharing your work, well done.
