Trying To Understand...

Hello Everyone! My Name Is Stephano aka PANDAMAN. I am new here. And, I've been told by RB, to just share my post, which, seems to be the place where I can learn the steps I must take, to take my short story and turn it into or adapt it to a short film. So Here is my post to RB! And forgive me, as I'm new and have not read all the instructions about making the best of this site! BTW: Pleased To Meet You! Stephano Christophero Aka Pandaman HI Richard! Thank You for the welcome! And BTW, since Sept. has been 3 years for you here... Then please allow me to wish you a very "Happy Anniversary!" Ya know, I basically got sidetracked here, while checking the background, of someone I know is a Screenwriter with a few films under his belt, who I think could do the job of turning my short story into a short film. Next thing you know, I see I've found this nice site that, will allow me to find that special someone; who can "prepare or adapt" an awesome short story (I have) as a short film. BTW - Would that be the job of a screenwriter? Or, would that be a script writer or someone who turns the story into a film ready script? Or, maybe a story & script are the same and; maybe a Screenwriter IS the Scriptwriter. And if it is.. And, it's not too difficult to prepare the story for film... I'd like to learn how to become a screenwriter! Otherwise, I'll stay a writer. All I know Is I have an awesome short story and can see very well, how the film would go. But... I have to prepare it somehow? And I'm wondering whose job that is? And what it entails. Can you please tell me if a Screenwriter is the one who formats a story in a way to prepare or adapt it to film? And if so, does that include having to know what kind of lenses & lighting to use etc? I am a music writer, performer & producer of songs. So I'm kina lost here! And, I must apologize for opening up and asking you about that, as, I just realized, I can just talk to my buddy Google. I just wondered while I was here; if I need a screenwriter to prepare my story for film, or is that another person's job and the Screenwriter is the one who writes a story for the silver screen. If so, then for all I know, I am a screenwriter. But I'm guessing, I need some education, in regards to preparing my story! What I do know, is that I do have an awesome story based on true facts which, I'd like to turn into a short film. And, I am familiar with a couple of folks who I know are screenwriters & film makers. But, don't know if they'd want to take on a future film project. But I will ask! And, since you do these things too? I just figured I'd mention it to you also! Please forgive me for my lack of knowledge; As, really, I only wanted to Thank You for your welcome! And (again); wish you an awesome New And Wonderful 3rd year!!! With Much Thanks... For your welcome and time and reply, if you choose to do so! But, If not? Thanks For Your Time Anyway! I'm sure I will be able to figure out how to prepare my story for film in time! Which BTW - Is Based On True Facts about a boy who died [me!] And, later, he becomes An Absolute Awesome Super Hero. Which, ok... I'm not really a Super Hero, but the storybook character is! And, I do have a An Awesome Super Hero Story! Thanks Again! ~ PANDAMAN! Welp... That's It Stage 32 Friends! I guess there'll be some replies! And if so? I THANK YOU ALL! And, hope that maybe, there's someone out there who already has all this together and can organize "the team" necessary to put a short film together and simply cut me in as Writer, Or Author? But, I guess I also need to be properly published first? Or is just a copyright protection enough? Also, I am a Disabled Viet Nam Vet, who does Not have much money. So, in all honesty? I'd love for God To Just Bless Me With The RIGHT PERSON WHO I CAN TRUST! Whom... Can take me through the steps and just let me focus on writing and polishing up my story for the next step in the chain! Is that possible? With Much Appreciation, I Thank You ALL For Being Here And, Taking Your Time To Read My Post! Note: I just had shoulder surgery, and am trying to recover, and am behind on some things. So Please Bare With Me! And again Thank You! Sincerely, PANDAMAN - The One & Only Original! P.S. There's someone on here that I know is very busy. So I just want to share that, He did a wonderful job helping me get my Pandaman TM! And, His name is Richard Hansberry! And, Richard RB Botto... Thank You Again, For Your Guidance! And Good Luck To Everyone!

Alle's right. At that point it would be "Story by" (you) and "Screenplay by" (the other) and you would be lucky, indeed, to find someone qualified to address it as she said. And, you should probably copyright your work.
