Introduce Yourself : Actor Seeking Representation by James Llewellyn Evans

James Llewellyn Evans

Actor Seeking Representation

I am a Toronto-based actor seeking representation for work in theatre, film, television and VA. I studied for two years in the University of Windsor's BFA Acting program, and have since been creating my own work and collaborating with local artists. I have experience working on stage and film, including Shakespeare and Chekhov as well as contemporary Canadian plays and original scripts. I have also directed for both the stage and screen. Here are some examples of my work: Anne's Curse (adaptation of Richard III, Act 1, Scene 2, also directed by me) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzRBwiTJIg0 The Sweater Song (a student film by Kyle Macdonald) http://vimeo.com/54482550 The Cold Wall (a high school project from 2006) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG93y5DmYhk

The Best marketing strategy...Don't seek for representation, let them come to you. You will get discovered, your work will sell you!! Be vigilant in Showcases, Workshops, Networking ect…Keep building your brand, so WE can see ALL the wonderful you do, so THEY can Rush to Find you so the RIGHT Manager or Agent can own bragging rights, because they just acquired and signed "the next big star"... Essentially, agents are looking for "turn-key" clients. Used to be, they took you on and nurtured you... not anymore. They already want you to have credits. In other words, they don't want you until you don't need them!
