Introduce Yourself : It's just Me... by Dave Slattery

Good morning everyone My name is Dave and I hope I get more familiar with this community. I have been an actor all my life, but as a profession only about 9 years. I have the instinct for acting from my daily life. I worked in and owned a sheet metal construction company. In business you work with people on a daily basis. Whether they are your customer's or you are a sub contractor to a larger company I found that selling your self was the best way to keep people happy and develop long term business relationships. As an actor, with soo many different opportunities, it is almost impossible to build strong relationships. But I have met a lot of people like myself in the industry who I call friend. I was very lucky when I first started because of my look. I joined SAG 7 months after I did my first background work. I have done a few national commercial's and I look to do more. My only draw back has been my 'representation'. I have changed agent's 3 times in the last 5 years and might make that 4. They were all great but we 'drifted apart'. Plus they signed up my friends who look like me....I have enough trouble getting work to have my agent send 10 of Me to an audition. I live in SoCal and I have traveled for work on many occasions. I have a current passport and drivers license. That;s about all I can think of to say, for now. Thank you for reading this even if you didn't read it all.....
