Hello everybody, I have an action feature spoken in Portuguese that would be of great interest for the Portuguese Communities around the world. I want to start organizing exhibitions of my film throughout these communities wether it is in theaters or places where we can arrange a projection. Certainly there are organizations with headquarters for various events of this kind, music etc. If anybody lives in these communities or nearby, or knows anyone whoi s a part of them or lives there, I would appreciate your help on getting the right contacts. Tiago, as a proud American of Portuguese descent, I wish you luck with your project. The only advise I can offer you in regards to foreign distribution is to concentrate on centers with a lot of Lusos. Here in New England, you should click on the websites of towns and cities with major Portuguese populations to see if they have an arts or theatre page where you can make further inquiries. Such towns that I am familiar with include Providence and Pawtucket in the state of Rhode Island; Cambridge, Somerville, Ludlow, Tauton, New Bedford, and Fall River in the state of Massachusetts; and outside of New England, Toronto and Massasagua in Canada, and various towns in Hawaii, Florida, New York (mostly NYC), and the island of Bermuda (sorry, can't narrow down which towns in these last few suggestions). These areas are the ones I know of that have substantial Portuguese communities. Sorry I don't have more intimate details to any of them. I assume you're also considering Brazil, the Azores, South Africa, and Macau?
Thank you so much for your help Joe. It was more than enough I can do some research on that from those starting points. A few days ago I found out about a Portuguese art festival in Boston and par of it has a filmcase. And it was rather easy to find. I just added festival to boston. So with your pointers, and if there is indeed something arty or film related, I guess i can find something by adding the town's names you advised. Thank you so much. And yes those other places are considered for the search. Except for South Africa. I didn't know there was a big community of Portuguese living there nowadays.
