I have access to Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. As an actor, I learned (through online tutorials and trial-and-error) how to put together a basic demo reel in Premiere Pro. Now I'm fascinated, and want to go beyond this. Here's my issue: All the tutorials on effects talk about how to use the effects software. I get that. But what I don't get is more basic. How do I move back and forth? Do I bring video clips into after effects, do magic on them, export them, then put them in Premiere Pro to put the final "movie" together? Or am I missing something? If this is way to simple for you to waste your time on, I would appreciate being pointed to online training that covers this. My thanks for your help...

Hey Jordan I kind of do what you mentioned when cutting my reels or doing a photo slide show for DVD. Put images in AE and do effect and comp. Render out to bring into Premiere (FCP for me) then render out for media of choice. For AE tutorials I recommend Lynda.com. For VFX , Digital Tutors and for high end VFX , CG Society.com. Also lots of great free ones online by artists and as suggested by Ken. Best of luck.
Oh..just want to add that while my footage is in FCP, that is where the audio is edited. Far more accurate than AE.
