Filmmaking / Directing : CO-Creator Agreement for Reality TV Series Pitch. by No Le Picante

Production Agreement and Contract. Recently I've been in development for a new Reality TV series to be marketed to either a Production Co. for pitching to a major network s or for to pitch directly to a network independently. The Creator of the show wants me to come on as the producer and co-executive producer for the show. I handle the overall Direction of and production of the series in order to create a sizzle reel and a couple of 20 min. episodes as a means to push and market the Reality Treatment to networks and productions co. Because the Creator does not have any upfront monies to contract me to produce the sizzle reel, he has agreed to go ahead and make me a co-creator/ producer which will result in me having equal say in the deal or whenever the series gets picked upl. My question is where should I start in terms of getting an agreement with him so that I'm protected for my work and investment into the project. Would I need to write out an agreement and get notarized. The Treatment has been Copywritten and registered already with the WGA. So right now the intellectual properties are under his name. NOTE*** I know the easiest and simplest answer is going to be to get a lawyer. but right now I don't' have enough money at this point to pay a lawyer to review an agreement or provide any consultation. If there is anyone who is familiar with this kind of deal or agreement any advisement on where to get legitimized, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
