The occurrence of a nuclear meltdown separates the Matters family while in the distant mountains two military veterans organize a point of distribution to meet the needs of the forced migrants fleeing fallout that overrun their small village.
SYNOPSIS:
When the meltdown at Magdum Heights Nuclear Power Plant occurs, injury, radiation, loss of family contacts, and the effects of mass migration force people to respond quickly. Lovers forget their differences to respond to community needs. A father suffers traumatic brain injury. His wife is sprayed with fallout. Their sons take to the road to escape fallout. The residents of a small village set up a point of distribution to decontaminate, feed, house, clothe, and medically care for the hundreds of forced migrants. These two features are based on Roy’s award-winning novel, Jolt: a rural noir.

I'm not understanding this logline. I get there's this family, and then the migrants come, but who is the lover of a mountain artist? A Matter family member, a migrant? And is it the lover or the artist himself who wants to become a house builder, and for whom, or the person who loves him/her?
