A young oil worker’s world unravels when the company’s assassins murder her grandfather. With the killers in pursuit, she joins others in harrowing pursuit of her grandfather's hidden proof of the energy conglomerate's dark secret.
SYNOPSIS:
“The Titan Secret” is female driven conspiracy science fiction thriller in the vein of “Soylent Green.”
A future Earth is frigid, choked off from the sun by dense pollution. Giant gas furnaces heat streets. Citizens carry emergency oxygen purification masks.
CHAYSE is raised by her loving grandpa, paid for and monitored by his past employer. Like her father and grandfather, she works for the oil conglomerate, Titan, cleaning sludge from the spacefaring oil tankers in orbit above Earth.
Chayse’s grandpa lives his last years in hospice. His end near, he asks her to deliver an important data disc to a specific reporter. Chayse agrees and makes plans to be with her grandfather during his last days.
Chayse arrives at hospice to find that her grandfather has already been processed. She is devastated.
Struggling to move on, Chayse meets with the reporter in a secretive location and gives him the disk. The reporter, and a Titan executive spying for the movement, tell Chayse of the many horrors Titan’s committed.
Chayse meets and falls in love with RYAN, a pilot for a spacefaring movement, Green Peace. She discovers that Ryan is part of the movement as all members wear a small tattoo of the sun. Initially hesitant, she decides to join once she realizes that it was Titan’s men that took her grandfather.
Titan’s evil security head, MR. WRAITHCOAT, murders the reporter, seeking the data disc. He then attempts to kidnap Chayse. But Ryan rescues her.
No longer safe on Earth, Chayse is whisked off planet in the Green Peace ship. Chayse, Ryan, and the Green Peace crew cross through the heavily guarded space gateway used to transport space oil tankers to the Dead Zone, a derelict planet rich in oil.
Arriving at the Titan-owned derelict planet, Chayse and the crew fly down through the toxic atmosphere. The ship then glides low across the surface, and we begin to recognize landscapes. Chayse realizes that this was Earth, the original, before the climate change was lost and the titans of oil made the planet uninhabitable, forcing humanity to move on.
They are set upon by security forces in a dramatic life and death struggle on an oil tanker. Wraithcoat is burned alive. Using her pilot training, Chayse takes over a space super tanker and, in a suicide mission, drives the massive tanker into Titan’s gateway. Chayse, wearing a space suit, is ejected from the wreckage and rescued again by Ryan.
With no way to return, Chayse and Ryan land the crippled ship on the vast savannah of ancient Africa. They walk together, seeing old elephant bones. Previously wounded, Ryan succumbs and only Chayse remains, oxygen nearly depleted. A massive illusion of an elephant emerges out of the mist and smoke, the ghost of the past. Chayse takes off her mask, smiles and accepts her fate. She and Ryan die in each other’s arms, laying still at the base of an ancient, yet living, African Adansonia tree.
