Has anyone ever auditioned via Skype? Just wondering how it went and if it seems like a viable option for long distance auditions. Often directors, like myself, are looking for someone who can play a particular character and it makes sense to expand the talent pool beyond those who can make a local audition.

I am a professional actress who has gotten back into work after 35 years by taking a screenwriting class in Groton, Ct and joining a group of filmmakers with SECTFilm in New London, Ct where my first script was produced. Since then I have appeared in several Indie features, most still in the film festival circuit, and several short, short films shown locally. Recently I directed and produced my own short script and am struggling with learning to edit it and add music cues. If you live in CT or RI come to the monthly Sept. 7th, SECTFilm meeting at The Garde Art Gallery, 305 State St., New London, CT at 1pm. Great place to network and comment on short films having been done this summer. I love movies and have learned many aspects of making films by being on crew for some of the local films done here.

Hi Lily, I'm from Groton too. And I'm a member of SECTFilm. We meet the 1st of every month in New London and network with filmmakers in the area. Next meeting is Sept. 7.
