SYNOPSIS:

MAYA'S (17) parents have high expectations of her going to college after high school, but Maya is determined to move away from the dismal city filled with little hope. During her senior year Maya sets out to use all her resources in order to make a contest deadline and enter her first written feature length screenplay. All is well amid a few minor hurdles, until her older sister NIECY (20's) moves back home. With bitterness towards Niecy whom she blames for their parents being separated and almost divorced, it isn’t long before the two sisters have it out and the family becomes further divided. With brewing family conflicts at home, a drug-using best friend at school, and the contest deadline fast approaching, a careless act by Niecy leaves the family in shambles, with time running out for Maya after her dreams may go up in smoke. Goals are meant to be achieved, yet Maya and her family must band together in order for her dreams to come true.
