When power has corroded all principles, what difference might a nine-year-old hostage make?

SYNOPSIS:

As son of the district attorney, PLAY (25) has had to learn to be on the lookout for trouble. His father’s job has made him many enemies. Still, nothing can prepare Play for the sudden loss of both parents in a car crash. Driven to the edge of his wits by his suspicions of a conspiracy in their deaths, Play is put in a psychiatric clinic, where he hatches a plot for revenge.

The burial of Play’s parents sees two police officers, ALINE (25) and MARIO (26), in attendance. They seem to know Play well and are chastised by him for not doing enough to prevent the tragedy. Also in attendance is ELLA (24), Play’s girlfriend, who can’t seem to comprehend the dark turn of events and is warned to keep out of it.

Two years later; 2024: A warehouse in a deserted part of town, BEN (22), TIMA (18) meet with the terrifying mobs- ter BRAVI (45) and his sidekick PANTI (29); against Ben’s wishes, Tima has also brought her young sister MIRIAM (9) along, as she doesn’t have any other option (their mother is a drug addict). The purpose of the meeting is to sort out a major new problem: the fact that the Richard Mille wristwatch that Ben sold to Bravi for 150k has turned out to be a fake. Ben, claiming not to have known this, promises to track down the original. He needs Tima’s help. Bravi takes the young Miri as a hostage, to Tima’s distress. The same timeline, but a different part of town: Play, rather than being incarcerated in the clinic, is found washed up in a bar, alone but watching Ella and her group of friends across the room. When he goes to her, it’s clear they haven’t spoken in ages; things get worse when JAKOB (30), her new boyfriend, appears and escorts Play out. Play is distracted from his misery by a phone call from Ben, who reports the trouble with Bravi and begs for help.
