LOGLINE: An educated young Hispanic man is tricked by his girlfriend to become and actor and is inadvertently trapped into a reality TV-like movie. (R)

SYNOPSIS:

Rodolfo Safiro is a young Hispanic legal immigrant who just finished his Masters in Business Administration but can’t find a job. He tries several different jobs with no success. His Latino girlfriend, who majors in the performing arts, encourages him to become an actor. In his first audition he lands a role, without him knowing, in a reality show type of movie. As he seeks training, experience, and knowledge on how to become an actor the director orchestrates a series of difficult and unpleasant situations for our hero who has changed his name to the artistic name of Rudy Stone. Everyone is in on it except Rudy as he cleverly out foxes the Director resolving the issues brought by fake FBI agents, and fake mafia style adult film producers. From this story we learn basic skills in how to (become an actor and it criticizes reality shows for bringing out the worst in people. This piece won the Crystal Reel Award 2006 for best comedy and it will have you laughing from beginning to end.
