An American soldier is captured by the Vietnamese during the war. How does the soldier get back home?
SYNOPSIS:
An American soldier is captured by the Vietnamese during the Vietnam war. Upon arrival, he is thrown into a crate where he is beaten and abused. When the Vietnamese soldiers try to talk to him, he stays mute. Throughout his time being captured he continues to be mute as the Vietnamese soldiers start to believe that he is mentally challenged.
During the two weeks the American soldier is held captive, he is constantly listening to the dialogue between the Vietnamese. The soldier starts to hum the tune of "Old McDonald had a Farm". Again, the Vietnamese believe that it's because he is "stupid". After two weeks the Vietnamese let him free, because they don't see him as a threat. The American soldier comes home and reports to his general.
In a completely good mental state, the American soldier recites over 100 names of Vietnamese commanders to his general. The general is in shock because of how he remembered all of the names. When asked how, the American soldier tells his general that he memorized all of the names to the tune of "Old McDonald had a Farm". The general is amazed, and the American soldier is a hero.
