Working as a co-informant at a nightclub, a hacker robot encounters a mysterious girl who may be the cure to his boredom.

Euphoric – Outline

ACT ONE

Ext. Abyss – Night

Night descends on the neon city. We see demonic monsters and many of Hell’s sins. This shows the world is much more underworld-like.

Ext. Streets – Night

People line the streets, and at the end is an elite night club called Euphoric.

Int. Euphoric - Night

Inside the nightclub, people dance to music, chat, drink, and have a good time. At one point, we see it happing through a camera lens to…

Computer Room

On the many screens, people are being identified and their information downloaded. Shadow, a hacker and a robot, watches, bored. He observes everyone to the point that he can predict what everyone will do next. He even watches his business partner, Vince, drink and entertain some influential guests with some VIP treatment. Shads grows more bored and leaves.

Ext. Riverside – Night

Shadow heads outside through the back door and watches the water from the railing overlooking it. He stares at the water for a few minutes until he notices someone come out to join him. He thinks Vince has sent one of the entertainers but is surprised to see it is someone he's never met. As they both stare at the water, he examines her to notice that she is neither a clubber nor a dancer. He even searches his database and cannot find any files on them either. They then get interrupted by Vince, who has been looking for Shads. Apparently, some clients want to have a word with both of them which Shadow is not happy with since he likes to be more of the behind-the-scenes guy. Vince tells him that's too bad, and Shads has no choice but to follow. But before he goes, the robot tries to get one last look at the girl, but she is gone. This surprises the hacker, but his mood sours when Vince hollers for him to move it.

ACT TWO

Int. Euphoric – VIP Lounge - Night

Shadow and Vince sit in one of the VIP suites with two gangsters. The gangsters need some information about a rival gang and Vince negotiates a price. As they come to a result and decide to get some drinks to toast the gangsters start to make fun of Shads, for they think he is just some low-grade hacker who would get a sugary and childish drink. Shads, instead, surprises the gangster by ordering a really good bottle of wine by knowing both the price, type, and why it’s good such as place its from and the grape used. Shads goes even farther than that and decides to humiliate the gangster with a personal matter that gets them scared as well. Shadow takes his drink and leaves feeling more annoyed than ever.

Computer Room

Shadow goes back to watching people on the monitors, gets lost in the noise of the network and takes in all the sources of information. He gets interrupted (dead silence) when he sees one the girl from outside. The screens change as the cameras follow her and Shads tries to figure who she is, which the screen next to it looks up people and workers. He watches her head towards the backstage with some drink when he is interrupted again by Vince. Vince questions what Shads is doing, and the robot tells him nothing. They talk about meaningless things and how Shads is holding up. Shadow tries his best to avoid the question and most of the time ignores him. Vince decides to leave but not before telling him he should try leaving this room once in a while and enjoy the club and its entertainment. “It’s not good being glued to a screen.”

Shads decides to give Vince the middle finger and does the opposite by turning on more screens. Shads listens to the network once more and gets more agitated with the racket. He gets up and exits in a huff.

Upper Floor

Shadow stands at one of the balconies and looks down at the clubbers below. As he watches everyone his mind begins to real with information like he did on the computer. He grows more agitated as the noise of the club gets louder and everything becomes predictable with images of things already happened or happening again. He gets interrupted by a drink being presented to him. Annoyed, he turns to yell at whoever and sees it’s the girl. He takes them and is surprised that it is a drink he likes. He turns to thank her, but she is already leaving.

Lower Floor

Shadow watches her go and uses the cameras of the club to see her head backstage.

Backstage

The girl walks around and dodges the dancers, singers, and everyone else while carrying the tray and drink. She halts when a door slams open and Ember, a male entertainer and diva, steps out. He demands someone tell him why his costume smells like someone wore it and gets no answer. This angers him as he spots the drink the girl has and takes it. He sips it and tosses the costume as the girl catches it. The girl heads in another direction with the costume as we see she is a mostly a floater.

Computer Room

A bing brings Shadow out of his trance of watching the feed. He looks up from the monitor to his phone to see if Vince wants him. He looks at the screen with the girl on it, but another bing goes off again, and he has no choice but to leave.

V.I.P. Lounge

Shadow plops down next to Vince on the couch, and the business partner notices the robot’s domineer is different and tries to get some answers. Shads rebuffs his questions until they are interrupted by their client, a wealthy influence who wants information on a rival. As Vince talks about price, he and Shads notice the influencer’s companion. The influencer explains she is not a companion but a sort of pet. She keeps the influencer entertained, which strikes Shadow with interest. Vince becomes curious and worried about what the robot is thinking of doing with this information.

ACT THREE Ext. Riverside

Vince smokes as he chats with Shadow about what went on during the meeting. Shadow reveals he might be interested in getting a “human” pet. Vince questions Shads about what his motives are since the robot is asexual. Shads confirms he still is and that he’s just bored with how predicted everyone has become and wants something new and exciting, which he believes this girl can provide. Vince says this is a bad idea but will allow the robot to do as he pleases as long as he doesn’t ruin their business.

Computer Room

Shadow watches the girl through the monitors as she helps clean up. He looks at other footage to see how she interacts with the others.

Bar Area

The girl helps put the chairs away and cleans the bar top. She jolts when she notices a shadow in front of her. She sees it’s Shadow as he comes to sit down and talks with her about his crazy plan and puts a collar on the counter. The girl looks at the collar and then at Shadows as the scene ends.
