SYNOPSIS:

While she tries her best to support herself, her severely handicapped son, and her mother by working as a waitress at a casino, Jen's efforts don't seem to be enough. Debts accumulate and her son's health continues to deteriorate. To make things worse, the bank is now after her trailer home, and there doesn't seem to be any solution... until the moment a friendly casino co-worker tells her about a Christmas treasure hunt. With some help from her son, her mother, her friend, and a mysterious stranger, Jen begins the quest for the Jingle Bell Rock, hoping to be the winner. But that won't be all. Out of nowhere, Jen and her family begin to receive mysterious checks from an unknown foundation that will bring an unexpected revelation at the end of her search.

"This is probably one of the best scripts I have read. I don’t think I’ve ever teared up reading a script before, but this story managed to make me do that. It has an engaging narrative, to be sure, but its real strength lies in its characters. Every single one of them makes a reader feel very deeply. Tyler, Jen and Nancy are especially powerful characters. I could quite literally feel their pain and frustration and fear. I loved Tyler especially; he is a terrific character and extremely well-crafted and well-executed. The story weaves beautifully between miracle and tragedy, pain and pleasure, and it shines by way of coming across as real, timely and relevant." -- Stage 32 Reviewer
