SYNOPSIS:

World at Birth is the epic story of Native Americans who band together with African slaves to resist and survive white encroachment. In a fight for land and freedom, Native Americans, and their African allies rebel against an enemy determined to destroy their way of life.

The Seminole resistance is led by Osceola (21) a Seminole warrior with no hereditary claim to be Chief, yet he rises to be their most influential leader. Osceola is determined to remain in his homeland, despite the United States constant threat of removal. The U.S is relentless in their efforts to eradicate the tribe, but Osceola with the help of Coacoochee, and John Horse refuses to back down. Osceola develops a brotherhood with both men; each faced with their own personal struggle. John Horse (21) a Black Seminole rises to become the most prominent leader of the Black Seminoles. John Horse struggles throughout the series to overcome, slave raiders, corrupt politicians and hostile Indians who oppose his tactics. Coacoochee (18) brave but arrogant is motivated by his own self interest to be Chief. Coacoochee is offered a bribe by the U.S to sell slaves and move west which poses a dilemma for the young Creek warrior.

While the freedom fighters face their own differences, nothing strengthens their bond more than their resentment for General Andrew Jackson (40), a megalomaniac, hell bent on Indian removal, and capturing ru slaves. General Jackson becomes President of the U.S, granting him with more power to exert greater control over the Indian nation. Jackson recruits General Jesup as his successor; a military officer whose tactics are effective and controversial.

Throughout the series, the Seminoles will be faced with many challenges while fighting for their survival. The Seminole fight for freedom would go down in history as the largest Indian, slave rebellion in United States history.
