SYNOPSIS:

Voices from Hell

Synopsis

Chas Sinososa is paying for his drug-selling, gang-banging ways in the third level of hell. The handsome, former wrestler is surrounded by cruel beings (Hellots) who have nothing better to do than while away eternity torturing each other.

Hell’s inhabitants endure excruciating agony and experience countless deaths, but enjoy no relief from their pain and suffering. To make matters worse, the proverbial highway to hell is paved with nasty drivers from Rome to Los Angeles. These lead-footed Hellots enjoy nothing more than mowing down pedestrians and other road-raging motorists. What else would you expect in hell?

Chas hides in the forest and gazes at a portal that shows life on earth. The young man watches with remorse as he views Noriko, a beautiful young schizophrenic, at her brother’s grave. Though it was an accident, Chas was responsible for Noriko’s brother’s death, and it is part of the reason he was condemned to hell. While watching Noriko Chas makes an off-hand comment and Chas makes an incredible discovery - Noriko can hear him.

Unlike the beings in hell, Noriko is kind and charming, two qualities lacking in the Hellot classs. In no time Chas becomes enchanted with the beautiful earthling. Whenever he can, Chas steals away to the forest to talk to Noriko. At first, it’s a diversion from his painful existence, but soon Chas falls in love.

Unfortunately, his happiness is short-lived. Mallon, a vicious Hellot on special assignment with Satan from the lowest level of hell, learns of Chas’ ability. Mallon discovers a sinister secret. Hellots can penetrate vulnerable minds on earth, such as schizophrenics, drug users, alcoholics and men and women suffering from depression. If he can learn Chas’ technique, earthlings can be swayed to become puppets for evil on earth, as well as create a stronger kingdom in hell after they die.

Meanwhile, while treating Noriko, Dr. Stan Williams, a psychiatrist at the local university, suspects something other than schizophrenia is at the root of Noriko’s illness. At first Chas views Dr. Williams as an enemy. However, when Chas learns how Noriko, as well as innocent lives and souls on earth are at stake, the two must find a way to bridge their opposing worlds and work together.

Voices from Hell is a psychological thriller/horror script with elements from classical literature (Dante’s Inferno) as well as concepts from Christianity, Buddhism and psychiatry. The story has all the components of a great script - suspense, humor, intrigue, plot twists, a love story and a satisfying, yet unsuspected, ending.
