SYNOPSIS:

Det. Laila “Sam” Samir and Sgt. Hadrian “Harry” Norstadt investigate the latest victim of “Kinko the Killer”, a serial murderer who targets professional female submissives. Samir, a lesbian sexual Dominant in her personal life, says the intricate bondage matches that of KNOWING THE ROPES, a b&d how-to book written by the pseudonymous “Doctor Dom”.

Public aid attorney Sabrina “Bree” Drake is at a psychotherapy session with Dr. Dario Pedrosso. She talks about relieving the pressures of her job as a bondage subbe at casual play parties hosted by The Sader-Masoch Society but wants more out of life than that.

Samir suggests she attend the Sader-Masoch Society bondage demonstration/party that Friday evening to see if anybody knows who “Doctor Dom” is. At the SMS demonstration Bree arrives and recognizes Det. Samir, having seen her in court. Despite her suspicions Bree and Sam are attracted to each other. When the bondage demonstration starts, both women are shocked—Sam because “Doctor Dom” is right there, and Bree because it’s her psychiatrist! When he asks for a volunteer, he chooses Bree.

The following Monday at work Bree gets a client, a “Mistress Sparkle” who was arrested in a police sting at a dungeon where she works. That afternoon Bree shows up at the officer’s precinct and runs into Sam, who quietly asks if Bree can give them some “English” on this if the charges are dropped and Norstadt disciplines the officers involved. Sam says that the officer in question is the Deputy Mayor’s nephew, so Bree agrees if Sam takes her out for drinks later.

That evening, as Bree and Sam are drinking, flirting, and going to Bree’s apartment for some bondage play, Sparkle is in her own tiny place when her door opens, a shadowy figure comes in and chloroforms her before she can scream. Intercut with Sam and Bree’s very sensual bondage play is the figure binding, gagging and slowly asphyxiating Sparkle.

In therapy Bree and Pedrosso discuss what happened at the SMS party, and both agree they'd like to pursue a nonexclusive Dominant/submissive relationship. Out with Sam later that week, both women agree they’d like to continue their bondage play, so Bree is intimately submissive with both Dr. Pedrosso and Det. Samir.
