SYNOPSIS:
In 1977, Lou Peters became the largest Cadillac distributor in California. Joe Bonanno Sr. wants to buy Lou's dealership anonymously as a money laundering operation. When Lou learns Joe's identity, he goes straight to the FBI. As Lou's middle daughter Lori, enters middle school, she is told by her best friends that the Second Coming is at hand. Once Lori is educated in this belief, her sense of reality is utterly disrupted. She begins to doubt everything and suffers constant torment from a vindictive God. Worst of all, God's unpredictable return could separate Lori from her Dad, her best friend, and her protector. To protect herself and others from this terrifying news, Lori tells no-one. When Lou Peters meets with Bob by-the-book Anderson, he convinces Lou to wear a wire and infiltrate the Mafia. Transforming Lou from small town car dealer to the first untrained civilian Mafia Informant in U.S. history. As Lou takes bigger and bigger risks, he begins to worry that his double life will catch up to him…and his family. As Lou disappears into his mission, Lori tumbles into ever-growing Dissociative Episodes and begins obsessively attempting to track the whereabouts of her suddenly elusive Dad using the wall calendar. As the situation grows more and more complex, Lou must evade suspicion and Lori must learn to find strength from within as she navigates her tumultuous teenage years in small town California. In the end Lou was successful though the celebration was short-lived. Lou died in 1981 less than a year after Bonanno’s conviction with Lori by his side.
