In the mid-20th century, a dreamer cartoonist living in a drab black and white version of
New York finds himself swept up into a garish, surreal world known as Stantooneyland,
which suffers under the iron fist of a dictator -- but to get back to this land, he'll have to
convince those in "reality" that he isn't insane.
SYNOPSIS:
In the monochromatic city of Noir York during the 1930s, twelve-year-old Eric lives with his
eccentric family, nurturing his artistic talent for drawing fetishistically powerful women, under the
encouragement of his free spirited mother ANNA. As World War II approaches, Eric discovers
his birth father's criminal past and enlists in the navy aboard the USS Turner. During his service
off the coast of Japan, tragedy strikes when the Turner is hit by an artillery shell, catapulting Eric
into Stantooneyland, a vibrant and colorful world which mirrors his proclivities. There, he learns
of his prophesied role as a messiah from powerful women, Bonnie, Rhonda, and Clara. They
take him to the Hand Tower Palace, ruled by the fascist dictator Lady Lugger. Eric is captured
and imprisoned alongside Mayumi, a Japanese woman enslaved by Lugger, who he starts to fall
in love with. Using an ink portal to escape back to Noir York. Eric embraces his artistic pursuits
and discovers a growing number of men who can see color. With Clarence by his side, Eric
faces skepticism while sharing his experiences in Stantooneyland. Realizing Lugger's
impending invasion, Eric seeks help from Mayor Guardia, only to uncover the mayor's treachery.
Arrested and confined in a mental asylum, Eric and Clarence plan their escape, triggering an ink
portal back to Stantooneyland. With the rebel alliance of women, they liberate Mayumi and unite
to overthrow Lugger's oppressive rule. Returning to Noir York, Eric finds a changed world but is
thrilled to have Mayumi by his side as they build a life together, symbolized by their child,
bridging the gap between their two worlds. We learn that the story was inspired by the life of
legendary cartoonist Eric Stanton, whose fetish art was revolutionary in the field.
