A timid clerk and his workmates must enter a hell-dimension, where the landscape clings to the inner surface of a huge sphere, to rescue their friend and prevent a ‘god’ from escaping and devouring all life on Earth.
SYNOPSIS:
CLARKE invites his friends SADIK and FUJI over to play the latest illegal computer game. He is both thrilled and anxious when Fuji invites his crush, BETH, to join them.
Their games night is immediately ruined when government AGENTS raid Clarke’s home. However, when the Agents try to leave with Fuji, they are all shocked to discover they are trapped in the house. Unable to smash their way out, the Agents search the house. After one fails to return the other Agent goes looking for him, herding the friends before him. They find a hidden room with a mysterious Well. The Agent believes it is the way out, but the friends disagree. A fight breaks out, during which the Agent and Beth fall into the Well.
Blaming herself for Beth’s predicament and unable to see past the Weird Darkness that fills the Well, Fuji sets out to go down after her. Clarke and Sadik join her. They find the Well leads to an exit at the top of a huge Ziggurat, on the inner surface of an enormous sphere: the Oubliette. Despite being freaked out, they go in search of Beth.
During their quest, they learn Clarke’s landlord, MARTIN, worships the ‘god’ imprisoned within the Orb at the centre of the Oubliette. To free it, Martin plans to sacrifice them and others he has trapped.
Clarke, together with a captured street person, devises a secret plan to prevent the ‘god’ from escaping. However, Clarke worries that even if the plan succeeds and they all manage to escape, his relationship with his friends will be irredeemably destroyed.
