A young awkward teen deals with bullying and his sexuality by diving deep into the fantasy worlds in his novels with the authors who wrote them.

SYNOPSIS:

Sam, an awkward gay teenager deals with the regular bullying he suffers at school by escaping into the fantasy worlds in his novels. In those fantasy worlds he travels with the authors of those novels, having the adventures and conversations he can't have with his family. When they start learning about Joseph Campbell in his English class, Sam starts traveling with him on the Hero's Journey, only he can't seem to make himself fit the hero's model. With his author friends Sam has to learn what storytelling means for himself and how that shapes the man he is growing up to be.
