An S.A.S recon operation erupts when a ‘spoilt little rich girl’ is seduced and kidnapped out from under the nose of an old-school covert operative, as he faces a new type of criminal, seemingly stealthier, and smarter than he is.
SYNOPSIS:
The unusual operation begins when EDNA CONRAD, the Matriarch of a well-connected Sydney family, uses her influence at the highest levels to insert a small group of covert S.A.S operatives into her world of the elite because she feels a sinister threat approaching, a veiled, ominous feeling she perceives. Still, she cannot place where it is coming from.
Sergeant PAUL THORPE leads the team in to recon’ the situation. He is planted as a driver for SONNY BARNES, a late-night shock jock DJ, who has alerted the Matriarch’s suspicions. At first, inserting a high-speed operative unit appears to be overkill, when the Granddaughter of the Matriarch is seduced out from under everyone’s noses, and brutally abducted, the Matriarch turns on the very people she has bought in, accusing Sergeant Thorpe of being ill-prepared.
The situation rapidly intensifies when he suspects he is dealing with a threat emerging from the inside.
ASIO, the Australian Security Intelligence Organization, makes its presence known with the intention of arresting Sonny Barnes as being part of the kidnapping plot.
Sergeant Thorpe remains unconvinced, from spending time with Sonny as his driver, he accesses him to be unfit to be a criminal mastermind. He holds them at bay temporarily.
Inadvertently, the hot-headed Sonny finds himself inserting himself into the situation when he insults and humiliates the psychopathic criminal live on air, which infuriates him to the point where, not only will he extort a pallet of gold bullion from the Conrad family, but he will murder the Granddaughter, and he will murder Sonny as well.
Sergeant Thorpe uncovers the hunter as being an ASIO agent, masquerading as an asset, however, at this point, he has no proof.
It is however clear that a murderous extortion racket has been uncovered, and has been on the radar of law enforcement for some time. As this threat unfolds in the background, Sonny is distracted, oblivious to the level of danger he faces, as his personal life implodes around him.
Sonny Barnes is a half Aboriginal Australian ‘Shock Jock’ about to go national, when he is abruptly fired for being too obnoxious, and his fiancé, the Matriarch’s Granddaughter, breaks up with him via a text message.
Sergeant Thorpe convinces Sonny to take a gig at a superyacht party for the society elite so he can use him as bait. And it is at this superyacht party that the Granddaughter is abducted.
Later, Sonny is assaulted on his lounge room floor. This is where Sonny realizes the danger he's in. As the cat plays with the mouse, showing Sonny a video of his now ex-fiancé being tortured. The killer whispers in his ear, he will be back to deal with him and explains how he will die.
Sonny almost goes to the police, but he can’t do it, he tells nobody, he picks himself up, and he carries on. But the storm continues unabated, he is arrested by ASIO while suffering a cluster migraine headache, confused, in such pain, that he becomes paralyzed and vulnerable. And then just as suddenly, he is vindicated and released, finding himself alone and isolated, with his skull threatening to explode.
The S.A.S surveillance team discovers that two criminals are operating this extortion racket, the ASIO agent, and an unknown mastermind working from the shadows.
Sergeant Thorpe comes to the shocking realization that Sonny had been isolated on purpose as a bait and switch, and Sonny is ready to be slaughtered. The covert S.A.S team assaults the site, finding, and joining a blood-soaked battlefield. One of the two assailants escapes alive.
The team gain information as to the location of the Granddaughter. Time is of the essence, and the S.A.S team screams in to assault the new site, only to find another blood-soaked location, and a message scrawled on the walls, explaining in so many words to the Sergeant that the killer will be back to deal with him and explains how he will die.
This is where Sergeant Thorpe realizes he is ill-prepared with his old ways against this new threat. The Enemy has beaten him every step of the way with superior tactics, and very soon he will find out how they match up physically.
