CROSSED
By Peter Herlan

GENRE: Thriller, Crime
LOGLINE:

Inspired from a true story, a finance executive helping orphans in Tijuana becomes entangled in a covert FBI operation to capture an elusive Cartel Leader.

SYNOPSIS:

Jordan, a venture capitalist, and hero to many, devotes a significant amount of his time and resources to supporting Angel’s Home, an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico, as he himself was orphaned as a child when he and his sister witnessed the murder of their parents.

When the FBI’s wings are clipped in Mexico after new legislation passes, the FBI becomes extremely limited in their cart blanche access in Mexico to fight the cartel drug trafficking operations, they begin to look for help from US citizens to support their efforts. The FBI takes note of Jordan’s frequent border crossings, as they have much more in common than they realize. The FBI taps into his emotional ties to the orphans he loves and tells Jordan that none other than the Malvado Cartel Leader, Oscar is responsible for the deaths of the parents of those whom Jordan dedicates his life to helping.

Jordan now finds himself in a dilemma of either putting himself in peril and entering world in which he knows nothing about for the greater good and ignore the bloodshed Oscar is responsible for or continue in the normalcy of his journey. When Jordan decides to engage, he keeps this a secret from his fiancé, Kate, a successful restaurateur and socialite of Little Italy as lie upon lie begins to pile up.

Oscar, a lonely cartel leader, that doesn’t trust anyone takes a liking to Jordan, but begins his own recon of Jordan’s personal life and gives Angel’s Home a massive gift by replacing the old, dilapidated home without proper sewage, with a newly constructed home with all the modern amenities, swimming pool, a grass soccer field, and chef, yet gives all the credit to Jordan.

When the danger reaches a boiling point, Jordan walks away from the FBI and moves on with life as he knew it. Or does he? Going through the border as he routinely does, he is sent to secondary inspection and finds himself in handcuffs when he is busted with a massive amount pure fentanyl powder.

Jordan facing a minimum of twenty years in prison becomes the tool the DEA and FBI need to take down the brutal leader. But in a shocking twist, Jordan realizes that he is just a pawn for Oscar, James, the FBI agent and his best friend and attorney Mark, as Jordan, unbeknownst to him, is the drug mule for Malvado the entire time.
