Expand postHello fellow Stage 32ers, My name is Micah Vanderlinden and I am a video editor and motion graphic designer working in Richmond, VA. Since middle school I have been making videos for fun and for competitions which inspired me to attend Full Sail University where I received my bachelors for film production in 2010. Since then I have edited and shot short films, music videos, documentaries, and marketing videos. Working with fellow inspired filmmakers and entrepreneurs is what I enjoy the best and one of the main reasons I joined Stage 32! It is my dream to make exceptional music videos for amazing musicians but in the meantime I make overview videos for companies and design motion graphics for various purposes. I hope to make more connections with the Stage 32 community that are interested in making narrative short films, documentaries, and music videos. I am interested in doing all I can to help out other filmmakers. I am always available to give feedback on your new project or make suggestions during the pre-production phase. Please do not hesitate to reachout! - MicahV
Welcome to the family
Where do I start? I have been on stage32 for a while but I have been way too quiet. I'm looking to make the most of this network.
A one minute post production reel consisting of the best video projects I have edited or designed/animated motion graphics for. I would love to hear what you think!
Anyone know the best teacher for those slow to grasp Premiere Pro CC? if so, please write to Bonnie @ personalpublicrelations dot com as am tired of being, not-so-much, "self-taught!" ; )
Thanks. Will check it out. Appreciate you response.

Adobe just released its 2015 update of Premiere CC so many of the videos will be slightly outdated but the content should be helpful nonetheless (and it's free!!). Best of luck to you - I've been a loyal Premiere user for almost a decade now! Jeremy

as a small time, just for fun project what is the best least expensive editing program available. one that is user friendly thanks
I have friends using Corel video studio, I think it is $80 and they love it for small projects.
Adobe has a month trial for all their products if you can get your project done in one month :) After that, it is $50 a month. Alternatively there is Apple's FCPX, I don't have any experience with FCPX but I hear that is pretty user friendly.
I found it pretty easy to maneuver through Sony Vegas Movie Suite. If you are just looking to put some clips together and even some small time effects. It is fairly cheap, around $50. Also depending on how small the project, just for videos you can use Windows Movie Maker and it's free.

Hey Micah, a few days ago we implemented a new privacy setting to give you the option of accepting private messages only from users within your network. Today, I discovered a bug with the way this option is set for new users. I just wanted to let you know that the bug is now fixed, so all members are now able to receive private messages from any other member (the default setting). If you'd like to receive private messages only from users within your network, you can change this setting here. Hey Micah, We're very proud to bring to the Stage 32 community an exciting and exclusive event: Rex Pickett - My Life on Spec: The Writing of Sideways. This 6 part series explores the twisted, obstacle filled path Rex travelled while nurturing Sideways from conception to screen. Rex's tale is alternately inspiring and heartbreaking, filled with the highs and lows, the self-doubt, and the paralysis associated with surrendering control of your talent, which should be relatable to any artist. We thank Rex for this exclusive series! It's a gift to the entire Stage 32 community. The intro to the se...

Hi Micah, we've just added a new section to your tool bar - Resources. Here you'll find links to the best acting, filmmaking, and screenwriting resources as well as a comprehensive list of film schools and film festivals. We'll be adding new categories and links regularly. One more thing, you can now find the "Messages" link in your sidebar right under your name. Enjoy!
Hi Micah, we've just released a pretty big update that I think you'll be excited about. You can now see posts and updates by everyone in your network right on your own wall. Happy networking!
