Still in Development: Classic 80's style Supernatural Slasher Horror

In the seemingly tranquil town of Lapeer, MI, a brother-sister duo unleashes a reign of terror. The hulking, silent brother becomes an unstoppable force of brutality, wielding any weapon at his disposal to maim and slaughter his victims. Meanwhile, his seductive and maniacal sister lurks in cyberspace, infiltrating the minds of unsuspecting teens through virtual reality games. As she ensnares her prey with sensuality and inappropriate humor, those who resist her advances face a more gruesome fate—summoning her brother into the physical realm for a blood-soaked rampage through the town. In "A Nightmare in the Matrix," the line between reality and the digital realm blurs, leaving the town's teenagers to navigate a twisted game where survival means facing both the horrors of a silent killer and the terrors of a virtual vixen.

SYNOPSIS:

Opening: night: tease William stalking campers in the woods, Moon in the cloudy sky line of tree tops is shattered by screams and blood splashing sounds. Campsite bloodbath, embers glowing from a fire pit that's died down, pools of blood and blood splatters all around the fire pit, body parts and more blood strewn about, 3 tents mangled, torn, ripped, cut, covered in blood. A bloody machete blade glistens in the moonlight hovering over a dirt road, camera rolls up to reveal a sign; Welcome to Lapeer.

Day, school bell rings, kids exiting school into the student parking lot. Our fateful four Emma, Ryan, Lila, and Gabe gather in the parking lot talking about the school dance tonight. A VR spectacle put on by QDD a cutting edge tech company and Lapeer #1 employer. Chatter in the background from other students about a horrific incident at a campsite just outside of town. Nothing exciting happens here, just gossip. They leave to go get ready for the dance.

Sheriff chats with other officers at the campground bloodbath scene. Tells the Mayor that a curfew needs to go into effect and shut the town down until they find the psycho that did this. QDD gets wind of the curfew and pressures the mayor and the school to keep the school dance going as scheduled.

Flashing scenes of the girls getting ready at one house and the boys getting ready at another house. Teenagers being teens bantering and having fun getting ready and goofing off. Music playing, girls picking out outfits and doing their hair and make-up. Boys goofing off playing video games and eating. Last minute throw something together and head out the door.

High School dance bloodbath and Silas introduction. Jessica introduced. Seduces and kills a couple of boys then all out starts murdering kids at the VR dance. The surviving kids freak out and take off their headsets just in time for William to come into the gymnasium and start killing chaperones and kids. Over half of the kids and adults at the dance are killed in the onslaught.

Gabe conspiracy theory about QDD the group investigates and finds a QDD corporate cover-up conspiracy. At night, Gabe goes into the VR and is murdered by Jessica. Sheriff determines Gabe died of natural causes. Kids explain that it was something in the VR headset that killed him and QDD is covering it up. Lila explains it's supernatural, but the Sheriff doesn’t buy it. Explains there's no such thing.

Sheriff Checks into QDD and finds Dr. Monroe. She acts indifferent until she meets with the Sheriff outside of QDD in a local coffee shop. She tells Sheriff about Military contract Silas Minton and the other soldiers, a cover up, and change into a civilian headset. The kids following the Sheriff stop in the coffee shop to hear the story from Dr. Monroe. Lila tells Dr. Monroe about the spirit that is in the machine. Lila explains the flashes of memory, a girl getting beat up and feelings of pain, betrayal and madness. She trys to find the girls name, julia, jamie, jenny, Jessica!!! Sheriff scoffs at the idea and says it's impossible, but the Dr. believes that could be a possibility due to all the deaths and issues with the military contract. Sheriff angered by the intrusion by the kids and the route the conversation is going, orders the kids to go home and stay home because of the curfew. Shortly after the kids leave, the Sheriff gets a radio call stating there was an escape from the state mental institution for the criminally insane and that they need to keep a look out for the escaped inmate. Sheriff asks for a description, dispatch responds with a physical description and then says his name is William Warren. The Sheriff’s face turns white and an expression of fear takes hold.

The kids return home and under curfew decide to go into the VR world and confront the supernatural being Jessica. They explore the world and all the cool wonders of VR technology. Then everything turns dark and a digital storm. Jessica toys with the kids a little bit to strike fear into them before manipulating the environment to a horror landscape. She attempts to taunt and attack them, but they narrowly avoid death. Jessica disappears for a bit and they think the assault is over until she reappears in a skimpy lingerie outfit and Luke, Emma’s father. She forces him to his knees. She stares at the group of kids like a large hungry predator “If you’re not gonna play fair, than neither am I. If I don’t get you here, my brother will, out there.” Luke instantly recognizes the young girl and starts pleading for his life and saying sorry Im so sorry over and over. Jessica just stares at Emma. “wanna know what it's like when your life turns inside out?” Then she sticks her hand down Lukes throat to her shoulder and pulls it back out, but when she does, Luke’s body is pulled inside out. Bones crackle and crunch, blood spits and gushes everywhere. Her white lingerie is now covered in red blood. She laughs like an evil child and holds open her hand revealing Luke’s testicles. The kids freak out at the site of all the gore, Emma drops to her knees crying. Jessica, still laughing, reaches her hand out to Emma, “Here, don’t you want to take your little brothers and sisters?”. Emma and everyone remove their headset and return to Emma’s bedroom.

Emma, still crying, runs out of the room, Ryan chases after her. Lila gets sick in the bathroom, not able to calm down; she goes outside to the back yard to smoke marijuana. Emma and Ryan end up in Luke’s study, where they find him slumped over in a chair with a headset on and QDD how to deal with loss counseling paperwork for the headset on his desk. Emma, out of tears with a 1,000 yard stare just says “I'm an orphan now” Ryan tries to console her. Meanwhile, Lila is leaning against a tree puffing away trying to wrap her head around what she just witnessed, when all of a sudden she feels a presence, she looks up and William grabs her by her head and face, picks her up off the ground and crushes her skull with his massive hands. He heads toward the house but is distracted by flashing red and blue lights of a patrol car driving by looking for him and teenage curfew breakers. Emma and Ryan hear Lila make a squealing/screaming noise and run out back only to find her body with a crushed head and a joint still lit and smoking lying on the ground next to the large oak tree in the backyard.

Back at QDD labs, after hours lights out, it's dark in the lab. Dr. Monroe, feeling guilt and remorse for the machine she created that has been causing so much death and destruction decides it is up to her to go in and face the monster. Once in VR Jessica is on her within seconds. Dressed in a sexy schoolgirl outfit with pigtails and chewing gum. Jessica keeps taunting and referring to Dr Monroe as Mommy. Dr, Monroe tries to reason with Jessica

To no avail. Then Jessica tells her the story of who she is and why she is there and it was all because of her and her son. Then she kisses Dr. Monroe and the Dr cracks and explodes into a red mess. Covered in Dr. Monroe pieces Jessica laughs and does a little dance the skips away.

The Sheriff is out walking the beat, she feels like she’s more alert and vigilant walking outside than sitting in some squad car. She sees flashing red and blue lights in the distance around the corner. So she heads over to investigate. Upon arrival she sees the car parked along the road, both doors open, shotgun through the windshield and a pistol on the ground. Blood all over the hood and doors. Looking around she notices no bodies. Strange… then she hears a steady dripping and sees a pool of blood getting larger on the hood. Looking up in the tree overhead she can't see much in the dark. She shines her flashlight up and sees two mangled corpses who used to work for her and immediately pulls it down and starts vomiting on the ground. She pulls the shotgun out of the windshield and hops in the driver's seat. She knows exactly where she has to go to end this nightmare.

Ryan and Emma get angry, they are tired of their friends getting killed and want revenge. They devise a plan and immediately begin executing it. Emma goes back into the VR world to confront Jessica. Ryan uses a laptop to hack into his headset and the VR world. Jessica is on Emma almost immediately, but she doesn’t show herself. She taunts and alters the landscape making it more and more dangerous. Finally Emma calls her out and Jessica appears. Now she looks like a road warrior from thunderdome. Very angry “little girl, Imma rip you to shreds.” as she charges Emma, boom she hits her head on steel bars. Jessica is trapped in a small metal coffin cell. Her powers neutralized. She starts to freak out. “Let me out, let me out.” “Where’s your brother?” Jessica stops screaming and starts laughing. “I’ll tell you if you let me out.” Emma “Ok deal” Jessica “let me out first” Emma “no fucking way” Jessica “ok, fine, its not like you’ll live to talk about it anyway. He went home to charge his headset.” Emma “where is that?”

The Sheriff’s headlights shine on an old weathered beat up sign that says Lyon Pryde motel weekly rates available.

Emma turns and laughs and Jessica starts screaming and banging on the bars as they turn into a sheet of metal and the small metal coffin disappears. Emma takes off the headset and returns to her bedroom, gives Ryan a hug and asks what he did. Ryan quickly explains that he hacked in, and treated Jessica like a computer virus, caught her in malware then deleted her.

The Sheriff with her gun drawn and flashlight out walks up to the front door and shimmies her way past the sheet of plywood covering the broken glass front door. Sheriff starts clearing rooms, but she knows exactly where to go. She stands in front of the familiar unit. Obscenities are scratched and painted all over the door. She pushes it open and proceeds to clear it room by room until she comes across the back side of a very large figure, a very stout muscular black male with long dreads sitting on the floor. “Billy, lil Billy Warren?” “It’s Sheriff Parker, remember me?” She inches closer, he sits still like a statue. “Honey, I’m going to need you to lay flat on your belly with your hands behind your back, ok?” “I just have to put my handcuffs on you for your own protection and then I can take you back home, ok?” Inching ever so slowly closer, her gun and flashlight trained on him. She hears a slight click and sees his shoulders raise and his hands going up, but not to surrender, to put his VR headset back on. He looks back and forth frantically. Then stand up. The large beast, bigger than the doorway, he turns, towering over the Sheriff. He looks around like he’s looking for something and then looks at the Sheriff and reaches out to shove her, she pops off three rounds in his chest, it phased him as much as a nerf gun, he pushes through her like she was nothing. She goes flying back across the room and crashes through the wall. He picks up his machete and slowly walks towards her. She empties her clip into him but he keeps coming. She tries to get up as he slashes at her and misses. She tries to run but trips into the hallway. She rolls over and puts her arm up in a defensive move as the machete comes down and clanks on her metal prosthetic. He lifts the machete up again for another shot but stops when he hears from down the hall, “Hey, hey you, asshole, fuck you.” Emma flips him off. He starts walking towards his new target. Ryan, hiding in one of the unit's doorways, wacks William in the knee as he passes by, dropping him to the ground. Ryan jumps over the large body and yells for Emma to get the sheriff and get out. Then lights a match and drops it in a puddle of gasoline that quickly engulfs the entire motel. William gets back up but this time heads back towards the Sheriff and Emma because they are closer targets. Ryan yells and screams trying to get his attention to no avail. He then runs up right before William gets to his targets, and hits him square in the back. William winches and turns around to acquire his new target. Ryan, holding William off while the girls escape, gets his batting arm cut off and with another swipe loses a leg and falls to the ground. William, standing over Ryan, raises his machete for a final blow when the ceiling and structural beams fall down on top of them both. Emma outside being restrained by the Sheriff screaming and crying as she hears Ryan’s screaming and crying go silent. They sit there and watch the entire motel burn to the ground as the sky starts to turn blue and the sun starts rising on a new day.

Credits teaser scene reveals William's remains were not recovered from the fire and back in Emma’s bedroom, Ryan’s open laptop starts glitching and you hear Jessica laughing.
