When a 16-year-old timid African American math genius loses his biggest supporter, he struggles to align with his gift to break a generational pattern and create the legacy he wants.

SYNOPSIS:

After watching a promising African American teenager in the ghetto dominate the court, in Savannah Georgia, Devin, a 10-year-old boy wearing bifocals and dressed in black pants, a polo shirt, and black suspenders, decides to become a basketball superstar. But, unbeknownst to Devin at the time, he is next in line to inherit an insurance company created by his great-great-grandfather, a formerly enslaved person. Fast forward six years, Devin is a junior in high school has dropped the nerdy look and ready to secure a spot on his high school basketball team and "play ball." However, on the day of tryouts, Devin's Father, Jack, reminds Devin that playing basketball is not the way to leave a family legacy and that "only people with skills are successful." But, despite the growing opposition from his father and others to Devin's basketball goals, Devin earns a starting position on his high school's basketball team. Unfortunately, Devin's hard work pays off the same day his mother dies of a fatal blood clot in her lungs. As a result of losing his biggest supporter, Devin struggles to align with his gift until a chance encounter with the former high school basketball superstar turned drug dealer who initially inspired him helps Devin reconnect with his purpose and build a legacy on his terms.
