Two teens unmask a sinister candlemaker’s dark secret behind a string of disappearances, culminating in a tense showdown with the madman.
SYNOPSIS:
It had been three months since Lorraine Bradbury had gone missing along with Norman Steggleman a very disgruntled ex-employee who had now set up shop in a small town, hoping to continue his obsession with working with wax. But it wasn't long before people were starting to go missing. One of these people was a girl with whom Mason and Nick two local teenagers who had been mates since they were little kids went to school with.
Not knowing Norman's story the boys visit the candle shop to order a gift for Mason's mum's birthday. Both get an eerie vibe from the store and its owner, but they shake it off as paranoia.
Upon returning later to pick up his gift Mason enters the store to find it unattended, so he proceeds to look around and comes across a back room containing wax figures which appear extremely life-like. Before he can get a better look he is interrupted by noises outside so he proceeds to exit the room only to bump into Norman who questions the boy's actions.
Mason makes up an excuse, pays for his order, and leaves.
Upon returning home, Mason tells Nick what he saw in the store and that the wax figures look like actual people.
They decide to return to the store that evening to investigate further but upon entering a back window Mason becomes stuck inside the creepy room. Nick hears Norman's car pull up outside the front of the store so he advises Mason to hide while he goes and alerts the police.
Mason who starts to fear for his life is captured by Norman who decides to punish the boy and threatens to encase him in wax.
Mason comes close to death just as Nick and the police arrive and arrest Norman. The wax figures are found to contain the missing persons, one of them being the girl from school, who manages to survive and is rushed to hospital.
Even though the boys entered the premises illegally they were hailed as heroes, and Norman is sent to a psychiatric facility to live out his days.
